Hi!

I finished playing ME2 months ago and got a saved game.... then after that i wanted to know what would be the ending like when i make a difference choice in the end, so loaded the same campaign last save possible (before going through omega relay) and then played the ending all over again and made that other choice in the end...and got a saved game.

So, my question is. Did that second ending with the different choice rewrote the first saved game or not?

Confused.



The only save file which gets automatically overwritten is the autosave. In which case the answer is yes.



If you save manually...well...you'll just be saving over your own file because you chose to.



I would guess that ME3 will see those different choices made by Shepard as two different Shepards assuming you made separate saves. (I'm guessing it is this that you're actually asking.)

i'll try to clarify.
1) i play the game and finish it and get a saved game that's transferrable to me3
2) i play the same game (load saved game from 1) game before going through omega relay) but choose a different ending in the end.. will it overwrite the one i did the first one?

Again, what I wrote back then still stands. Only autosaves get overwritten automatically.

Manual saves are overwritten if you choose so.

The question then becomes: have you actually manually saved a game?

Ummm no... i played it from the omega 4 relay to the end.. only with different choice. So yes, it got overwritten? crap. I need to play it again then and make the choice i did the first time. i only hope i still have that save..oh my god. I'm terrified.

Again, the point still stands.

If you are not using manual saves, then yes your 'save' got overwritten.

If you are using manual saves, then it is overwritten if you choose to overwrite it. (Again, I would question whether you use manual saves because if you do then what is the problem?)

Mass Effect 3 isn't out, so we don't know how the transfer will work. Perhaps it will record the info in a hidden file somewhere; we don't know. Ask the question again when ME3 comes out, otherwise it's all speculation and common sense theorising.
