It's still there, but since it's fairer and the lightning changed, it's less noticeable.

Welcome, chest brother, it is good to see our numbers well represented on these boards.  Varric, standing proud and suave, with his chest bare for all to see and marvel at, leads us into a new age where we can proudly proclaim our identity amongst the smooth and cowardly shaven.  We can say YES, chests are manly and gamers can have manly chests!  

Being hairy isn't enough, you must be PROUDLY HAIRY!  Run your hands over it women, snarl your fingers in it!  It is MAN power!  And while our numbers may seem few, Varric will lead us back into the light ... remind us that we *should* be proud of what we are ... and it will be Mantastic.

Maybe it's just the lighting, but it looks to me like the first one is just darker hair on paler skin. The second only looks like less because the hair and skin color blend more.

Which I like better, to be honest. He is a worldly man, it's fitting he be more swarthy<3

Yes! Thank you. How I managed to miss that I have no idea. I think I just expected it not to be there. Pretty much makes Varric's ingame model perfect to me now hah! I still like the idea that it was for notes/maps/love letters and other miscelanea though.

Also: Spinning Varric will never get old. He's like a sexy, sophisticated, Dwarven Sonic the Hedgehog.
