That and/or recite tales/poems ala Leliana/Zevran(?).

And when romanced, he tells a special poem/tale which would hopefully make you go D'awwwwwwww

Took me a while to realize that I had to link my DA2 profile with my BSN presence (use "My Games" => "Dragon Age II" on the left-side dropdowns, then "associate" , or whatever it's called) before I could select my DA2 portrait here.  Then didn't like the way it looked. 

Actually, I'm still  not happy with any  of the Hawkes I've made so far.

EDIT: @Thandal I love Morgana Andras, she's my Orlesian Elf who adored Anders back when he's still just Anders... She also thought Oghren was hysterical. My Hawke would show up later on................... Besides, look at those EPIC elven ink! Hawke doesn't have any that would match up with Morgana's... I have one of Trivia Aeducan though, a retconned version who I may just give airtime later on... /offtopic.

Varric is too awesome. Hes like a friend that everyone needs IRL. He'd be so beast to go to a rave with haha.

So glad Bianca is a crossbow and not a real person, Varric would probably not be available at all if that was the case.

Yeah my main party always consisted of at least Varric and Merrill. 

The two I couldn't go without. Coincidently they're both written by the same person too.

Varric exceeded my expectations. I didn't expect him to be Team Mom but he ended up filling that role a little bit didn't he? Albeit unconventionally. Loff so much. He never left my party.

Okay there have been may threads with memorable dialogue but no seems to have heard the line between Isabela and Varric about how he could be the Paragon of Manliness. Has anyone else heard this dialogue or just me. To me it was one of the most hilarious conversations.

Mine too.  He is truly worthy of the title Epic Bro.

For one thing, he DOESN'T BETRAY YOU IN THE FADE!  I was pleasantly surprised, since almost everyone else does.  I was all ready to get my ass handed to me by Bianca, but no!  Epic Bro stood beside me.

I heard he does? Or at least can. Fenris and Isabela ditched me and Varric stayed. I wanted to slap Fenris upside the head, and, well... I let Isabela go get her big boat. I got some friendship points for that haha.

I think everyone but Justice has the potential to betray you, but there's a hierarchy? For example, first playthrough I had Merrill, Anders and Fenris. Only Merrill betrayed me. The second time I had Isabela, Fenris and Anders. Isabela and Fenris both betrayed me.

IIRC Justice does if you cooperate with any of the demons and Anders gets mad at you outside the fade. Before my first playthrough I was encouraged to leave the mages outside the fade though so I'm not sure what actually happens.

Our Hawkes look awfully similar. Anders has good taste.

Initially, I was only mildly interested in Varric as a character. However, after having him in my party for most of act one; I couldn't take Isabela along. He was just a great character. His banter with Aveline and Merrill was priceless. Along with his in battle banter with Hawke was beautiful. It will be difficult not having him along on my Rogue play-through.

Ah, well, that's understandable. I should have figured that out, since Justice was getting incredibly pissy at me when I was waffling on accepting a demon's offer xD I took both my mages into the Fade and nothing happens that doesn't happen for other characters, aside from Anders going all Justice.
