Alsdkajf I didn't feel like I was going to cry when Bethany seemed like she was about to die in the Deep Roads but then Varric looked so sad and said how far away from help they were and called her Sunshine and I bawled. I love how much he cares about your friends and family He's one of the few grounding things in the sh*tstorm.

Varric fills the rolls of bro, Team Mom, comic relief, BAMF, Paragon of Manliness, and others. He's the best and certainly as awesome as we hoped

When you beat a game of solitaire in Windows, instead of the cards raining down or exploding, Varric will walk onto the screen, shoot the cards with Bianca, and then turn around give a roguish wink.

What she said. I was pleasantly surprised at how much better Varric was than whatever I it was I had imagined him to be... which wasn't so far off, I just wasn't expecting him to be that friendly and caring :')

In both Origins and 2 Mary's written basically my favorite characters. I mean we got Sten, Loghain, Varric, and Merrill so far that I know she's written... all my favorites.

Really? I think Varric already had a pretty big following before the game was released, I loved him back then and I love him even more now. Hell other characters are missing screen time because I can't take him out of my party.
I'm currently on my 2nd playthrough and he is still a full time companion.

He did, but there seemed to be a ton that were kind of... drawn away from him, I guess. Also, the people who were overjoyed that he wasn't an LI(and rubbed it in).
