Hmm my memory is appaling (I forget what people say in the time it takes me to pause the game, get up and go to my laptop usually), but the gist was:

Varric: So, Hawke and daisy huh? What do you think about that?
Isabela: They make a sweet couple.
Varric: Is that jealousy I can hear? I thought you and Hawke had a thing going on?
Isabela: Hawke was just a fling,  we all know your the one I want.
Varric: Oh Rivaini, you wish.

That is probably word for word incorrect, but it is the main gist of the conversation and whatnot. I remember there being another chat Merrill and Isabela have about it as well, naturally discussing Merrill and Hawke's sex life primarily, with Isabela saying she can think of any number of reasons Hawke isn't so great (playfully).

The party banter is universally amazing really. Although Varric plays such a key role in that, that I am having trouble imagining myself playing the game without having him in my party.

I'm really pleased at how well received Varric is overall. There are people that I remembered expressing a strong disinterest at romancing a dwarf and later on I would find them talking about how great Varric was and they would have considered pursuing him. People are being converted. =D

I didn't see anything on the wiki about this, but was there a reason given for an elf wearing a dwarven casteless brand on his face? (Huon from "Loose Ends" quest in Act 3.)

He's probably the most sane party member. Why can't I romance a normal sexy dwarf with great chest hair and sense of humor?

I'd rather see sexah dwarves, they have muscles and/or curves (the female ones).

I want Varric and a female dwarf companion next time... That would be great... Shayle and Sigrun optional but damn I will be overjoyed if that comes true! (Don't forget, VARRIC for LI!)

I took Varric with me one time I spoke to Merrill. I flirted with her and this pretty much how it went.

Hawke: That mirror isn't as pretty as you.
Merrill: I bet you tell Varric he's pretty a lot too.
Varric: She does. Too bad I'm not into humans.

Oddly enough i never remember about it when i play. Maybe because the difference in appearance is just too large and it's not like Vaughan is very prominent in DAO, so there's limited exposure to him.
