Oddly enough i never remember about it when i play. Maybe because the difference in appearance is just too large and it's not like Vaughan is very prominent in DAO, so there's limited exposure to him.

Haha, yeah. I thought it was going to be an issue for me, but Boulton is just great and while Vaughan was a... memorable character, I never went "OMG IT'S VAUGHAN" when I heard his voice coming from other characters. It helps that Hawke isn't all rapey and gross. So think of Arl Bryland or Ser Bryant instead

Also helps that I think Boulton's voice is swoon-worthy, so when he and Varric (or Fenris or Anders) are talking to each other I am just like "asjkdhjkashdsad <3"

Yup. I had a good feeling about him from as far back as the eurogamer demo but was blown away by quite how well he pulled off all three personality types. It isn't just that his voice can do witty or stern/agressive, his compassionate voice is almost perfect as well I found.

The highlight is bantering with Varric and Isabela though, the way he voices the humourous lines in those situations fits so well.

Also, my aggressive lady Hawke has been like, super gathering rivalry points with Varric (and everyone). Varric rivalry makes me sad, Varric has to be my bro in every game or I feel uneasy I've set her aside for the moment so I can replay my main, it's kinda sad xD

Dude, I ended up with a bigger crush on my own Hawke than on any other character. Damn that voice askdjaskds.

Well, let's see. We can still work with this. The whole unreliable narrator thing does leave a lot of wiggle room, I happen to think. It certainly could work within someone's fanfic that he's dropping the whole "not into humans" line in there for Cassandra's benefit. I mean, he is telling Hawke's story to the angry woman who's trying to find her in order to do Maker knows what with her. It wouldn't do at all to give the Chantry too much amunition, would it? He's trying to get himself let out of custody, not detained more permanently as a bargaining chip or whatever.

Currently non-existant Adair Hawke wishes Varric's fruit wasn't forbidden. She's way too into Varric to actually romance anyone else.
Not that it'll stop her from flirting with everyone.

Like in that banter with Aveline where she says something like "you say you don't like commitment, Varric, yet here you are six years later still at Hawke's side" and he goes "In case you haven't noticed, I lie a lot". Well, after completing two play-throughs of DA2, I'm firmly in the "OMG why isn't Varric a LI?!" camp. He's amazing. He's my only consistent party member, and he's entirely made of win (especially when in a party with Izzy).

Guess I'll go look through some Aimo fanart and sulk.
