Double PS- I think I figured out why all this Varric fangirl love pisses me off. I've been a LONG time fan of fantasy dwarfs in all franchises. Due to the fact they're typically unattractive, they are often not popular and even mocked by fangirls as ugly little buggars. Of course, slap a pretty face on a dwarf and make him fairly attractive/suave and all of a sudden popularity follows. Of course, this doesn't apply to all "fangirls", I know some loved Gorim for example... but it still applies to many.
Oh dude you are going to be tearing your beard off in rage at Peter Jackson's dwarves in the Hobbit then:
Aidan Turner as Kili!
Robert Kazinsky as Fili!
http://t2.gstatic.co...-3zrUL0Qww-wjag
Richard Armitage as Thorin!
http://t0.gstatic.co...ElwhO0FFuRg&t=1Mikeal Perbrandt as Baorn! Not a dwarf but a shapeshifter, I'll leave it up for the pretty though.

Hottttt. These gentleman will give Varric a run for his money for hawt male dwarves, no?
PS: I was team Leske for Origins, obviously.
I'd like to add that I thought Gimli was way cuter than Legolas. And at the council meeting in Rivendale, I was checking out the dwarves more than I was checking out the elves. Just sayin'.
(Of course, Boromir gets me every time in that scene. How can you not love Sean Bean's voice?)
Anyway, the devs did mention that you could have flings... Maybe Varric is flingable? ("Never toss a dwarf!")

I already miss our blue BioWare tag. All of ours were old aside from Gaider telling us to simmer down yesterday. I feel like the neglected child from a first marriage after the parent gets remarried and has other kids. *sobs*

On a slightly-random note: is there a link to 2.0 thread on the OP? I only saw the link to the 1.0 thread...

Hahaha, I was just joking. Mary doesn't have to stop by even when she gets back, I just kinda miss the old jokes and stuff

Yup, it's under the 1.0 thread. Or it should be... I didn't remove it. If you go down a bit further where it says (original thread) it should take you there. I still have some editing to do the OP but my mouse is making it difficult. So as soon as I get a new mouse, things will be getting cleaned up.

I wonder if Mary went of vacation to avoid the fans. I hope not. We love Varric regardless of LI status. We all know he will be very well written and we have Mary to thank for that.
I'd say that the chances for that are microscopic. If she got tired of fans she could just stop visiting, as nobody forces her.

I found it, thanks. The link to thread 2 is actually a little *above* a link to the original thread. If I read the words, I'd have found it sooner.

I'd go on vacation after I finish working on a huge project... but this isn't a speculation thread about Mary's reasons for going on vacation, lmao.
We're all still here, I think she'd be happy about that. I know I would.

Only scrolling and clicking through the Varric thread can create so much abuse to a mouse to cause it to fail.

You have no idea. My mouse is probably five years old. It needs to go into retirement.

So, any speculation on Varric's personal quests? Apparently all the companions have multiple personal quests, which I think is kind of neat.
Spying? Revenge for something? Mending Bianca?
There are no obvious ones, but I think it'll be family related (his, not yours).

I certainly hope Varric has some shady sidequests set aside, hopefully stealing a lot of money from bastards or just relieving the wives and daughters of Kirkwall's nobility of their chastity.
Hah. He'll end up as Varric Hood, stealing from the Merchant's Guild alongside (the infinitely more awesome than the original version) Mage Marian.

In one of the interviews (or something) it sounded like Varric could assassinate people for you. Shady sidequests don't seem too much of a stretch.
On a completely unrelated note:
Richard Armitage!! *swoons*

You'll also probably have to do something involving the Merchant's Guild, I bet.

That would be nice since I'll be playing a rogue first.

But now? Now I have been driven to actually post due to this horror. I...I want my Var-bear. Why are they not giving us the Var-bear? D':
-sniffle- Is it because he's a dwarf? 'Cause he's not really that tiny, he's just compact. He's as much if not more man per cubic inch as anyone else, which means that he is so much more manly due to his dwarven volume.
Tell me we can at least flirt heavily with him? Because fanfiction is a cold comfort. A cold and scary comfort.

I thought that was more of a general thing, not specifically linked to Varric. It would be interesting to have lackeys do all the dirty work, or have the character who you're doing the quest for actually kill the person.

Enlisting his network to help you with taking care of political competition (as the only review thus far mentioned much politics being in the game) would be an interesting option instead of doing it diplomatically or just straight up killing them yourself.
