I decided to write down Varric's comments when he gets revived. It was tearing my heart out, but the prizzze. He even says stuff when some other companion (or Hawke) gets knocked out.
"Thank the Maker. I'm too good-looking to die this young."
"Let's not do that again. I'm not ready to meet my ancestors."
"Bianca, you okay? Oh, I'm sorry baby." (I'm sooo naming my next Hawke Bianca after hearing that)
and what jackkel dragon said "Dear Varric, please learn to parry. Love, your innards. Ouch."

About others, he said lines like "Hawke, hang in there. I'll get you out of here." or "Blasted, Daisy got herself knocked out." (It was also funny what Merill said about Varric: "Varric, if you are faking, I will strangle you.")


@Gilsa: Nice comparison. I started 'renegade' Hawke for the same reason, but it's not easy, rivaling Varric when all you want to do is.. hug him.


Oh, and great idea about the meme. Wish I could draw. *sigh*
But personally, I don't find no.2 being such an easy question. I still can't decide between the epic chest hair and handsome chestnut eyes.

Hey Varricans! Has anyone else gotten visits to your Act 1 hovel from companions? I was wandering around Kirkwall looking for decent daggers for the Deep Roads Expedition and when I returned to Gamlen's Merrill was there and told my dog a story. I went out and came back again and Anders was there. He was actually very sweet, more like the old Anders (wish I had recorded that one). I tried a few more times trying toe get the rest, but no one else showed up. It's getting late here. Tomorrow evening I'll try a couple of night excursions and see if i can get anyone else to show.

Also, for you PC users, Pineapple has some eye and hair color mods that are very cool.

I've never had any of the companions visit me unless it was my hightown mansion. But now I see how it is. My Hawke isn't good enough for them, living in her little hovel of a home with her uncle. They're not visiting until she's got some cash! Hmph!

I never had people visit me at Gamlen's house, but perhaps it's because I didn't go home enough. I don't think I got a single visit at all in my second play, even in the mansion.

I got visits for dog. That was it.

The conclusion is that they prefer the dog to Hawke.

So, this is pretty juvenile, but totally satisfying to me nonetheless. Apologies for the poor image quality. A PC gamer could do this so much better than what I can achieve taking screenshots from the console. I'm linking rather than embedding because, well, my Hawke has purple smallclothes and probably that's NSFW. Not sure. Better on the safe side, I figure:

Yeah I had some of these, the Anders one was great and helped me realise some of the old Anders was still in there.

Aveline and Varric both visited in later acts as well, Varric's visit is great he is playing cards with Dog and invites him to the next card night amongst other things.

In regards to them turning up: I would sometimes find them appear after I re-loaded my game in the mansion/hovel, despite them not being there when I saved it.

Can't blame them, I also prefer Dog to Hawke.
Besides, Hawke seems unable to learn Diamondback. Notice how he never gets invited to play cards.

I was installing some texture & tint mods last night.  That might explain why Merril suddenly appeared.  I'll see if anyone appears when I load this evening.  I usually like to save at my "home" before I exit to give me a frame or reference when I come back to the game.  I keep hoping Varric will show up!  I won't get my hopes up though.  Gamlen's probably isn't classy enough for him.

On the visits: It's funny that all companions come visit your dog except Fenris. He is so anti-social. Or hates dogs.

Just finished the game with Varric on rivalry. His comment 'You and I haven't always seen eye to eye... *cough* height notwithstanding', I died laughing. XD It also helped because I was in so much depression from Anders rivalmance. Varric makes everything better.

The first one is courtesy of really nice little animation sequence that Varric goes through when he's just standing around. It's a little sideways head rub that reminds me of Merrill's description of halla rubbing their heads against trees.

MengDe is Shy, part II: The Return of Varric - Now in 3D!

So, MengDe has been at it again and she's still too shy to post it herself. But this time, she doesn't bring naked Varric in an apron, oh no. She's found a new way to play and she decided to swap characters in game. That includes in-game cutscenes. Which includes hot romance cutscenes. Which, now, may include Varric.

Of course, swapping characters with drastically different body models, usually turns out in fail but... I'll let you decide for yourselves how win this particular fail is

There are spoilers for Fenris in the subtitles because this particular scene was taken from the Fenris romance. Nevermind them or don't read them at all.
