Heh, you found your way into the Varric thread at last kg!

I don't think Varric would mind if Hawke has another LI before him. She'll need to get the angsty crushes out of her system before she can really appreciate a paragon of maliness after all.

Varric Tethras is basically the Lorik Qui'in of Dragon Age. He's one smooth talker. Probably good with his hands as well (see how he twirls that crossbow bolt early in the game, oh yeah..)

Have a good time and some fun with the available romances in DA2. Varric has to see what he's missing. With a little luck it might actually inspire him to make some moves in DA3 =) you can always hope. If Varric was a LI in DA3 I would take a single Hawke through DA2.

I haven't made my Hawke that is totally crushing on Varric yet but right now I'm trying to play games I haven't finished before I start/finish another DA2 run.

I tried to do that once but then Merrill.. that girl came out of no where and captured my unsuspecting heart. Isabela is definitely a lot of fun though and she's a great counterpart to Varric (they have some of the funniest dialogue in the game, much of it seems to be referring to the antics we've had in this thread in the past).

I do wish Varric was an option though, playing through as a Lady Hawke it just seems like it should be possible.

The only character my main Hawke would consider "romancing" is Varric. It could be that she mocks Fenris daily and tries to discourage Anders whenever he decides to do something other than sit in his clinic. But that may just be a side effect of unrequited love. ;p

You see, I've heard that, like for Aveline, we could flirt with Varric without it becoming a romance. However, I've yet to see any flirt option for him. I wanted to try just for a laugh and see what happens.

I'm not sure for female, but with a male Hawke, the closest was joking about swearing his undying love for Varric (a sarcastic option). Can't remember if it's during An Update or after Family Matter. There's no golden heart though.
