Does bioware have something against dwarfs? You can be buddies but can't romance them.
Hands down he would have been the funnest romance character.

A girl can dream, can't she?

Varric is the one companion who can't die or abandon you. Hopefully they'll pull a Garrus with him and bring him back in DA3 as a LI.

Well, apparently statistics are in our favour so all I am saying is that we keep campaigning!!!
Also, we need something for his non-romance fans.
Maybe a banner that says
VARRIC: BRO OF THE CENTURY
There are already plenty of Varric for DA3 LI Banners here...

It's not fair that we didn't get to romance varric! Finally we get a dwarf without a beard that is funny and cool, and we can't romance him. Bull****.

Without a beard!? You act like that's a good thing! I slapped a beard on varric as soon as there was a mod!

SO much better. Now that's a dwarf I could romance.

God forbid we attract the attention of the pro-mustache group. They're F*IN CRAZY!
Mustaches... such a thin line between total bad*** and creeper.

Well, he was also voiced by Brian Bloom
Gorim has a beard and he's so noble and such a gentleman
So it's obviously more about the personality rather than the facial hair.
Wade's Moustache fans are crazier if I heard the story right

In fact, after what they did to Anders, I'm alright if they never reuse a companion character ever again..

They just.... didn't execute the transition very well so it does feel sudden to some people. Me? I always saw Anders in DA:A as being a very dark individual, so I liked his change. What I didn't like was how he was more pro-active than Hawke.
now, back to Varric. Varric's chest hair.
That's all that needs to be said to get this back on topic.

About Varric, I really hope he get a DLC of his own. Bianca's Song? Paragon of Manliness Hunt? The Golems of Chest Hair?

Anders changed writer and was posessed by a spirit. I don't see this happening with Varric any soon. Plus, Anders got way more interesting in Dragon Age II.

No, Varric might get his hands on some of that red Lyrium that was once Meredith's Statue, go crazy and start cutting peices off people like Bartrand did. And kill a bunch of innocents and angst about it.
If Anders is any model.

"Interesting" is not quite the word I would use. But this is not the time or place.

Hehe, I remember the "wink" one. Oh, Varric, the things that could have been.
Well, I think all those things still can be... with the power of AU fanfic and fanart. Perhaps not eveyone's preference, but hey, it works for me...

So, entirely, no. Varric doesn't need a beard with a mustache ... maybe give him some nice mutton chops, but I wouldn't go further that that.
As one of Varric's chested acolytes, I can tell you the chops do go well with the chest - if I can pull it off this well, Varric could devirginize an empire.
