The Gaider comment would be an ultimate tease if no actual romantic relationship could happen between Varric and Hawke but it's better than nothing.

@VirusQ: Hmm, what about applying some kind of fiber with spirit gum? Basically the same technique they use for facial hair in theatre. Or an alcohol-based makeup. That would be pretty smudge-resistant and sweatproof.

@leonia: well they did do a non-romance romance with Sebastian I suppose, so there's precedent.

I usually post over at Snap, Crackle, Pop.  You know.  My love for snarky inaccesible men cannot be bound by genre.  Or something.  LOL

The taping job was shocking, really.  I got a lot of help and advice from individuals on Deviant Art.  The interesting thing is that the effeciency of the medical tape changed due to humidity.  At home, in Arizona, the Kinesology tape worked the best.  In San Diego, the regular Mueller sports wrap actually worked better!  So weird...

As far as chest hair, I've done experiments with stage makeup.  My mother and boyfriend said it looked really good, but I think they're obligated to tell me anything I produce looks good.  I think it looked like I rolled around in mud, personally.  Also, the Varric Tunic is hand embroidered, so I have to hand-wash it, and I'm horrified to get make up smeared all over the inside of it.

We discussed and experimented with prothstetics, doll hair and spirit gum, but ... honestly?  It's already weird enough for people that I'm a woman experimenting with chest-binding and cross-dressing, but then adding pettable Varric chest hair brought it to a whole new level of weird.

Honestly, what I really wanted to have available was a belt with plush cats on it, like Aimo's infamous artwork in the Bioware Fanart Contest.  If anyone asked for chesthair, I was going to whip out the cats and give my best Captain Morgan pose.
