Varric was apparently intended to be a love interest but they ended up scrapping it after it got voted off to spend time on other things, apparently.

I like his dynamic with Hawke. I personally don't see him as a LI since my Hawke and Varric have a bromance going on, but I could understand why some others do. Varric is a one bow kind of guy. I don't think he would cheat on Bianca with Hawke. lol

Varric is a pretty cool guy, and the only one who I don't want to murder by the end of the game.

If any of you still lurk here and long for our beloved dwarf, can you let me know whether we've got a DA3 Varric thread up and running? I can't find it if we do Dx

 The success of an earlier interactive text adventure, Lyrium: Cullen's Confession, and my sister's enthusiasm for Varric led me to put together a kind of "what if" version for Varric. It operates under the assumption that Varric was lying to Cassandra when he said that the didn't know Hawke's whereabouts... and possibly about their romantic status, if that's what you're into. You can run it as a platonic friend or as a lover, but it doesn't work as a rival. Sorry, but there's only so much you can do with HTML.

Varric is a great character. Anders and Varric are the tww most consistency kept characters in my game. I always have some small issue with the other character and switch them out as needed. And when I have to leave either one or both, I feel a little cheated on the great conversation possibilities. Of course character interactions and quest conditions is why they get switched out in the first place.

I can't believe this thread hasn't seen any action since Varric was revealed for DA3. I'm so happy to see he's back, and hopefully he'll be an LI this time around!

I doubt he could be a companion , but who knows!
And he's sooooooooooo LI material , I mean he's hot , funny , sane ...and in the comics , he shed tears about one of his long lost love.He's a sensible man (well dwarf).
And his voice is great ...
Oh and of course the chest hair!

Anyway whatever's going to happen , I hope they won't kill Varric.
Just don't kill him.

I hope I am not bringing a dead thread to life. But I love Varric the dude is awesome he makes me want to be a dwarf! I am playing a Female right now and I wish I could romance him...hell I would do that with a Male (though I am pretty sure Varric only goes Female). I was so happy to hear he will be a party member in Inquisition I also hope he is a Love Interest for the Female character (becuase if so I will be a female all the time).
