DA2 Conversation Wheel.... "deep" dialogues???

Conversation where very very long sometimes, but I really enjoyed this because it gave you the possibility to know more and more deeply about your companions personality and past stories.
You had lot of options in dialogues and really got the chance to say the thing that reflected your personality the most.
I fear in DA2, with the conversation wheel, dialogues will not be so deep and interesting as in Origins. I've only seen some previews of DA2... but the dialogues just looked too simplified for me.
I really enjoyed spending a lot of time talking at the Camp with companions in Origins... will we have a similar experience in DA2?

I know that in ME2, if an "Investigate" dialogue could allow further options, they would simply either appear as additional options in the primary wheel, or as a replaced option in the "Investigate" wheel.
I can't imagine that the designers would allow something as silly as a UI change affect one of the main attributes of this game.
That said, of course it could!

Or maybe we will have the generic ME2 not now lines!
"Can it wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of recurving Bianca!"

On a seperate (but related) note: I'm really hoping there will be more back-and-forth now that your PC is voiced. I want my PC to engage in the convesations a bit more and I'm really hoping that will happen in DA2.

that has more to do with the pacing of dialog events than the UI itself.

..Yes? Why wouldn't we? They aren't removing dialogue depth, they're just changing the way we choose the responses. You can still chat up companions and all that and (probably) have lengthy discussions with NPCs.

Yep, and we didn't HAVE to do it in camp. We had options. I really fear what's going to happen with the dialogue, and would even without the dialogue wheel, voiced actors and paraphrasing, what with the game's emphasis on speed and (supposedly) cinematics. I'm afraid that we'll be triggering cinematic events more than having in depth conversations, and since we won't be able to speak to our companions outside our home bases, I'm afraid that travel will seem less involving. My PC was damn lonely in Awakening. I don't know this will happen, of course, but dialogue is my main worry about the game.riccaborto wrote...
I must admit Origins conversation system was quite "heavy" I'd say.

You realise this isn't because of the dialog wheel? People still spoke in Origins.

I'm going to be in a minority here, but I liked it. I think that having to stop between hubs to run through every companion's dialogue kills pacing. Awakening had it so that if they had something important to say, they'd hit you up. It helped dole them out better instead of front loading them, too.Grey Warden Nathan wrote...
What ruined awakening for me was having no conversations, so as long as there is some form of conversation option im not fussed what it looks like etc.
I think they tend to drag the companion dialogue out far too much. It's cool to have insight, but it shouldn't be a 30 minute circle of the camp.
