What I want to know is why in the Hell isn't Venom, Megaman or Strider Hiryu in this game?

I'm still going to get this game as I can't wait to make every wuss who uses Dante and Deadpool on Xbox live cry to their mommy but still, I hope we get some new characters via DLC at least.

What's your beef with Deadpool? 

Nothing, it's just going to be fun to beat down every player who uses him since he is apparently a popular choice.

What connection is there with Deadpool being a popular choice and beating people who use him specificaly being fun?

Bought it on a whim. Was in the game store looking around and just couldn't help myself.

I never spent 60 bucks on a fighting game before and while the game is fun I wish I had waited.

Anyway people complaining about the small roster shouldn't because their isn't any repeats.... example Cable and Cyclops was just Ryu in a different skin.

Because I have a bit of an underdog mentality. I like the idea of using more obscure, less popular characters to defeat the dime a dozen popular choices that everyone and their mom uses.

Certainly looks like a good team, though since shuma isn't out yet I cant tell you about how good he is but both Dorm and Sentinel are beastly.

The most brutal team I've found so far is Dante, Super-Skrull, and Akuma. Hands-down. They're just vicious in the right hands.

I doubt it's a misguided judgment, I think it's a decision to sell DLC by adding the most popular character of the past games.

Strider hasn't had his own game for over a decade now, this was less consipiracy and more "lets put characters that are actualy relevant in this day and age in the game".

As far as cyclops not getting in Marvel had a say in which Marvel characters got in or not so take it up with them not Capcom. Considering Cyclops is a rather hated character in the comics I can see why they didn't include him.

Not only that but Arthur is well liked from his own series, most people who like Strider have never actualy played the Strider game they only know of him from MvC2.

Well Capcom has a pretty screwed up notion of what is relevant outside of Japan, so they end up pandering to cliche ideas, especially when it pertains to what they believe the 'west' wants. Strider Hiryu may be too obscure for western gamers, too Japanese. He's also the coolest goddamn character they have ever created.

So naturally, he'll be DLC to milk the franchise, or he'll be absent. That's how the braniacs at Capcom reason.

I swear, whenever I get critical of Bioware, all I have to do is think of Capcom to realize how disconnected a company can get from their fanbase.

Are you serious what is so great about Strider? He's just a standard issue ninja on a mission. I wouldn't even put him in the top 10 characters that capcom has created, much less at the top spot. And since dlc characters are being sold separately I doubt I would even bother buying him as dlc if he was offered...

I don't know why they put Jill Valentine in the game. Yeah, I know she was in the the last Marvel VS Capcom but her appearance in MVC 3 is based on her Resident Evil 5 look which is so incredibly stupid.



Also, they should have had Leon Kennedy in the game instead of Chris Redfield.

I dont really care for her RE5 look myself, but that really doesn't seem like the kind of thing to complain about to be honest but then again people complain about anything so whateve... Also Leon is awful, Chris is the man.

I don't think I have been clear in my argument against Strider. What I am saying is Strider isn't a big enough character in this day and age to include in the main roster. He probably will be DLC so his fans can get him if they want but he woudln't be a big draw to someone who hasn't played MvC2 if he was part of the original 36. It has been a decade since MvC2 and they need to appeal to gamers who have been playing some of their more recent games not just us old timers(and even then Ive been playing mvc2 on and off since it came out and I still couldnt care less about him). I don't believe this is milking or some sort of conspiracy to fleece gamers, to me it is a logical step for them to take since roster spots were limited and they needed to appeal to gamers of the current gen.

I frankly don't care if Strider hasn't been in a game for a long time. I loved Strider in the arcade and on the Sega Genesis as a kid and I loved Strider 2 for the PS1 when I was a teenager.

I have fond nostalgic memories of the Strider games and I think the character Strider Hiryu would fit well into the MVC 3 roster.

I would like to see a Strider 3 more than anything.
