Not a good way to live, friend.
Do as you please.

No shame at all. You need strategy to beat the game, but there is a huge luck element and you can't really affect that.
luck element ? please explain to me how luck as anything to do in this game ....

It doesn't, but you are going to recieve randomness when it comes to what you hit and what misses you. If you were to reload a battle and play through it a couple times, you will notice the hit or miss ratio favour you more or less depending on the outcome.

i agree but then again it doesnt really have an impact on gameplay. I mean damage and hit ratios are based on stats not dice rolls right ?

so just know your not alone, who cares if we play on easy mode. if it helps us enjoy the game more, why the hell not? then again ive never been a "hardcore" gamer. i often play on easy mode the first time through a game, then step up to normal there on out. i rarely ever play on harder difficulties. i dont play games for challenge, usually, i play to escape reality and feed my imagination/ plus i just dont like difficult games, loosing makes me mad, i have patience issues.

I just think that if you approach a multiwipe battle with sliding down to easy, you will never learn how to improve your tactics and become a more proficient player who does not need to play on easy.
I play every game on normal since it sounds like a normal thing to do. If I cannot solve a situation in multiple retries with different tactics, I might look up a strategy tip on the net and try to implement that. Also on normal. But that's me.
Play the game however it best suits you but I suspect you feel that going easy is a bit like cheating and the after-battle satifaction cannot be all that great.

Aye, this whole idea that Nightmare is too easy because you can pull enemies one at a time from range is a little silly I think.
Can you? I can never split mobs the same way it can be done on Infinity (one block of fog of war at a time), once a grunt gets hit all his pals come down at me. BTW I don't know how line-of-sight works in this game because it seems to focus on positioning and it's non-existent on consoles.

a couple dragon battles, and a couple revenant battles were just too tough for me.
sometimes I switch to easy when I'm lazy though
I know it's a SP game, but I still feel like a loser playing on easy.

Dude, if a bunch of flickering pixels on a computer monitor can make you feel like a loser, you may want to think about why you're stting in front of it . . .

I love this game, but I'm having a very difficult time with it--especially the random encounters when travelling. Recently, I was travelling from the deserted battlefield back to Denerim (s/p), and encountered a pretty nasty band of darkspawn with a few shrieks and a TON of archers. There must have been 30 of them. How do I get around something like that?
I sat back and had Morrigan cast blizzard and Wynn cast earthquake. The only problem is that they gained so much threat that the archers shot them to death in 5 seconds. When I rush straight in, the same thing happens.
I'm not really having that much fun playing this game for how hard it is to be perfectly honest. I'm currently playing with Allistair, Wynn, Morrigan, and my main which is a dwarf warrior. So, should I switch this to easy mode? Is there shame in that?

Ignusknavery
Ignus,
Play how you want. I stuck to normal most of the time and switched to easy if I got stuck for too long with a battle. As long as YOU enjoy it. I found if I stayed on Easy too long I didn't feel a sense of accomplishment. So that's why I switched back and forth.
Try to figure out your play style too. Don't be afraid to pause the game and swith up tactics.

I say play it at whatever mode you find fun with because in the end that's all that really matters anyways.

Easy is great for learning! I learned how to take down Dragons on easy, then I learned how to do it on a higher difficulty.
I agree... there is not a shame to play at easy... 90% of my game i played i started on easy to learn about game... system, how to fight with bosses etc...
when u think that game is to easy switch rank up to normal or if u feel god to hard or nightmare:)
thats my opinion:wub:
