I always assumed that your enemies could no longer touch you due to sheer awsomeness.

I killed one and had plenty of health, then the other hit me twice and killed me, and once my rogue jumped off....

Ha. Yeah, sometimes I would get jealous and force them all on standby when a boss was in low health so I could get the animation on my PC.
I can't wait to see some mage KB animations.

I most certainly did. Lamest way to die evar. It was the Ogre at the beginning of the Dead Trenches.LPPrince wrote...
I never died when doing special killing animations.
I also got killed by a fireball from the Hurlock Emissary boss (Chanter's board mission) because I had to stop and decapitate his lackey instead of run up and kill him.
I am incredibly unlucky.

You actually die this way quite a bit when you solo the game. With nothing else to target the archers can cut you down pretty fast.
That's why casters and archers need to die first

Why weren't you targetting the Emissary from the get go? That's just bad tactics.

The worst part about it was that I had revived Alistair to be the distraction, smh

I personally wish they would happen more often depending on how much was left to kill, and had a 100% chance of happening for boss mobs cause, seriously, they need there head chopped off after a long grueling fight. But seeing it happen on the first few mobs at the start then not later on was awkward for me.

From my understanding they can occure on mook mobs as well but im not 100% sure on that. Either case I know they're still around and all fighting styles have there variants. It maybe entirely based off just getting a critical hit for the last hit and it ends in a more spectacular way, guess we'll find out later.

Saw Mook mobs explode Baldur's Gate style in the video that was posted recently, but I have yet to see any of the old deathblows we saw in Origins. Though perhaps they are all new, I don't know.
