When I described Isabella as feminine it was in regards to her large boobs, and large butt, with a small waist. She also has long hair, is well groomed, and appears to be wearing makeup.

When I describe god of war, or boris kodjoe as masculine, it is in regards to their lack of hair (high testosterone causes men to lose hair), chiseled physiques (muscles also caused by testosterone), and height (males are much taller than females). Thats all I meant with masculine and feminine. It had nothing to do with personality.

I hope she cries a bit less than Kaitlyn. (I shouldn't say that, I always go find her stupid brother for her.) I understand what you're trying to say, D.Kain, but I stand by my statement that her body is not a thing to be described as "masculine". Shouldn't you be focusing on her melons?

Her body is on the masculine side. How should I put this bluntly... The fact that she has ''melons'' don't make her feminine it just makes her a female.

How so? You seem to be leaning on a very classical view of femininity. (notice the italicized)

Ok one more time.

Feminine Traits

Submissive
Dependent
Unintelligent and Incapable
Emotional
Receptive
Intuitive
Weak
Timid

Passive
Cooperative
Sensitive
Sex object
Attractive because of physical appearance

Masculine Traits
Dominant
Independent
Intelligent and competent
Rational
Assertive
Analytical
Strong
Brave
Ambitious
Active
Competitive
Insensitive
Sexually aggressive
Attractive because of achievement

And it has nothing to do with being male or female. If a guy were to have all those feminine traits and none of the masculine he would still be a man, just a feminine man. Same goes for women.

WOOOOWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1950s  gender standards much? Seriously.

If you're going to talk about Western culture, the idea that woman have sexual appetites and are inherently wanton and more lascivious than men constantly rushes neck and neck with the idea that women are pure and virtuous beings that men foist sex upon.

In the virgin/wh*re dichotomy, both aspects reflect a 'standard' view of female sexuality.

I'm going to tell you one thing: for me masculine and feminine have NOTHING to do with being male or female. So I say that being very sexually active is masculine, regardless of wether you are a man or a woman.

That's fine, but masculine and feminine are cultural constructs, and Western attitudes towards female sexuality are very easy to see.

Sure, you can say that being very sexually active is masculine for you. I could say that sticking a banana up your rear is masculine for me. You're free to reconstruct social concepts as you desire but coming into a conversation and acting as though your personal definitions of these concepts are something others would inherently agree with and see is a bit silly.

In Western culture, there are two main modes of female sexuality: virgin and wh**e. A wh**e is 'very sexually active.' This doesn't have to be as sexually active as a normal man, it just has to be outside the bounds of proper, wholesome sexuality.

I don't think you can cleanly sever the ties between Feminine meaning "relating to woman" and Masculine as "relating to man". Perhaps if you used a different set of terms? Or something.

Yes, feminine is woman. Feminine is not *female.*

Yes, feminine and masculine have to do with gender. They're the cultural basis of gender. They don't have anything to so with a person's *sex.*

Seriously, you're coming off as someone who read the first chapter of a gender studies textbook a two years ago and doesn't remember the details.

I can read, yes. And I say even if you feel it has nothing to do with gender it's still antiquated. The only reason those things can be associated like that is because of cultural attitudes and societal mores. It's feminine to be stupid? It's masculine to be competitive? Come on.

Ok sorry, english is my third language. And yes I was talking about Isabela as a female and not as you say a woman. I really don't think that gender exists these days.

Exactly. A female is competitive? +1 to being masculine. A male is stupid? +1 to being feminine.

I was trying to be a smart ass with those comments. And where did you get these standards? I'll disprove you simply by saying I belive being unintelligent is masculine and being being competitve is feminine. If you aren't some world accredited gender studies professor I say your opinion holds as much weight as mine.

Please read some more of what I said. There are all sorts of feminine
and masculine traits - looks and actions. Sarah Walker can look
feminine. The fact that she kicks ass would make her mor masculine. If
say a guy would cry for help when a fight starts it would make him more
feminine
. Again I don't think that feminine/masculine have something to
do with sex.

Clearly you have never taken Gender Studies.Yes, looks are not indicators of the masculinity or feminity of an individual. Yes, there are all types of masculine and feminine traits - most of them norms created by society over the years. Women are nurturers, men protectors, and the like. Such preconceptions are the reason women couldn't vote, run for office, be doctors, or own any property. If this were still the Victorian era, Sarah Walker kicking ass would indeed be considered masculine, and deviantly so, but most of western society has moved beyond such pigeonholing. And if a man is confronted by six bikers, maybe calling for help is just smart, and not a mark against his masculinity.

As for Isabela's body being masculine...what? She has breasts, and childbearing hips (for want of a more lurid term). Masculine would imply a boyish figure, without, you know, lady lumps. Unless you are implying that the muscle tone needed for hand to hand fighting precludes femininity? If so, maybe you need to meet some different women.

...How is stupidity a feminine trait? Really I'm...I'm just baffled.

Someone being an idiot doesn't make them feminine it makes them an idiot.

A masculine looking guy can have a very feminine personality, and vice versa. I was speaking in regards to looks alone.
