Eyeing you questioningly, the guild officer starts to explain. “It should only take a couple of days. A yellow package has come up missing somewhere near Woodburrow in Fanglewood Forest… “
“Fanglewood”! You think to yourself.  An ancient forest of old, Fanglewood was around when dwarves where tall and goblins mattered. As a child you heard rumors of this place, Fanglewood. Rumors of how bands of Orcs, bandits and wild beast infest its woods. Mother would always warn “Go into Fanglewood and the wolves will get you!”
“Woodburrow , on the other hand,  may not be so bad?” You scratch your head and ponder. As a small village of rugged lumberjacks located in the mid-western part of Fanglewood, its inhabitants manage to eke out a living chopping lumber in Fanglewood Forest, which is considered some of the finest lumber in the realm. The deep dark ale brewed there is nothing less than exceptional and the women are renowned for their amazing skills with wood. “Now if only I can find that little yellow box.”
Fanglewood is a simple quest for a mysterious yellow package that disappears while in rout to Woodburrow. You are a young first time adventurer hired by the Merchants Guild to find this package and deliver it to Woodburrow. Armed with a dagger and ten gold pieces you start but things quickly get complicated as the package eludes you, drawing you ever deeper into the dark forest and the secrets of Fanglewood.

*Update*

As thing stand at the moment I have 7 of 8 modules finished. The 8th module is going to take awhile considering I have still have about 8 more area’s to build. The good news is all the area’s left to do are all interior areas which for me tend to go a little faster.

I am thinking of making one more exterior area and turning into a vast underground cavern but not sure yet. Probable won’t make a decision on that idea until I a get there.

I am thinking of going over to the vault and see what RWS has in the way of vast cavern tile set.

Still have a conversation to write in module 7. Should be easy, just the background for module 8.

This sounds great, and from the screenies on the project page looks it too.

I used an outside area and black skydome Hak for Caravan Club when I did my big cave. You can be a lot more creative with height and water if you do that.

Sounds great, looking forward to play it! Nice screenshoots, too. I thought "soon" would be earlier than July, though...

@PJ, yea I used a black skydome in MinD, it worked fine. Thinking I can make a dark cave ceiling using illistraitor. One where it looks really dark but you can still make out the ceiling. Tried it once before with some free software but just didn’t look right.

@Arkalezth, ok I guess July is kind of off but think, wait a couple of months and July will be soon. I do apologize but it’s the soonest I can get it out and still produce something worth your time.

@Leinadi, thank you…

No problem, it's just that I read the title and thought that it would be ready for release. It's your module, take all the time you need.

I released all the stock rock, cliff and cobblestone textures as darkened cave roofs.

All right everybody, I know July is not real soon but I’m just thinking ahead.

@Quixal, thank you for the encouragement.

@ntb, Going to have to say no only because I’m not totally sure what ‘Kaedrin's class Pack’ is, LoL.

@Matt, thank you and like wise.

It's an add-on that fixes a lot of bugs and introduces new classes/feats/spells/etc:

Compatibility issues are explained here:

@Arkalezth, thanks for the links. Kaedrin's class Pack does look very interesting so I will test it out for compatibility and then I will let everyone know. This will most likely happen when I have a working beta. Actually Arkalezth if you want to join my beta test team in a couple of months that can be a good job for you!

This module looks really big, Alpinu. How long have you been working on it? Eight modules? That's a lot of development! Will it support Fluriarch's Decrompression Editor v2.3? I guress v2.2 would be okay, but the improved visuals of v2.3 would probably be worth the extra effort.

Cheers.

LOL, don’t let the 8 modules fool you. I have to confess, one mod has only one area and two others are like three area’s each so it not that big. Right now the whole campaign is about 705MB. I expect it will break a 1000MB when done.

Started on it last spring and been putting in about 10 hours a week ever sense. Well maybe not ever week,

LOL.Fluriarch's Decompression Editor v2.3??? I have no idea Matt, can you give me some more info or a link.

Just teasing you.  I made it up.  I'm just joking on how there are so many expansion packs and customizations developed by the community and it's hard for us developers to keep up with them.

the women are renowned for their amazing skills with wood.

Surely Michael Scott has something to say about this.

LMAO, yes I agree Matt there is a lot of UI type gizmos out there and with all due respect to the authors, I’m not sure if I trust an all of them. Like an untested medicine some can have bad side effects. I usually wait for the community to give me the thumbs up on any home brewed software.

They really are good with wood; they can make figurines, furniture and other such things. I don’t know what you people are laughing at.  Posted Image

BTW, who’s  Michael Scott?

I had to look that up, he's from the US version of The Office I believe.

Unless they mean the famous classics scholar Micheal C Scott who wrote, Delphi: bellybutton of the ancient world.

I which case I don't get the joke.

*UPDATE*

Managed to get a few hours in on the ts this afternoon and did some work on module 8.

Working on a large 17th century style mansion, you can see it if you look at the project screen shots. Finished the court yard and started on the second level.

The court yard came out nice, might throw out a screen shot later. It’s an exterior 4x4 area surrounded by the house with a stream running through it. But of course totally over grown for the house has seen better days. Thinking of using this area as a place to pick up a side quest, haven’t totally made up my mind on what type of side quest to use. Thinking along the lines of maybe a lone water nymph, that lives in the stream, who lover needs rescuing or a wood nymph that has some urgent need. Yes there is a few tree’s as well.

The second story of the house is just getting started; I have the floor laid out (9x10 interior). Now the long tedious choir of furnishing the level and for it to meet my level of detail I’m looking at about 15 to 20 hours of work. I’m shooting for a “House of Usher” type atmosphere. Where only some of the furniture appears trashed and in even some places in the house you might think somebody still lives there.

That’s it for now but if anybody wants to suggest a good quest for a wood nymph feel free.

Maybe this screen shot will create more interest…
