-We usually get shafted on the extras in UK.
-This would involve geting the game from Game or Gamestation and I refuse to get my games there, instead I support my local shop (that's struggling to survive as their never get the goodies big retaillers offer)
-I don't follow pre-order news. How the hell am I supposed to know this if I never go into a Gamestation?
I'm not even sure what all the fuss this is about but if DA2 is missing an important piece of story or a party member (don't care about items) I will wait for it to be in the bargain bin before getting it.

Especially if they get overlooked all the time (generally Europe).

No excuse. The Signature Edition offer, and its ENDING, was insanely hyped all over the place. We were warned, over and over and over again that it was a limited time offer and to not miss it. And as pointed out already, not even the "I don't have the money right now" retort constitutes any sort of valid excuse, because you didn't need any money to pre-order it. So....

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. "EA, not Bioware." But EA isn't so bad, really. They have to think about the financial side of things--somebody does. It's how the developer-publisher relationship works. Sure, a juggernaut like Bethesda can do what they want basically, but I've become disenchanted with their style; the formula doesn't seem to change as much as I'd wish from game to game. Maybe they'll change, but I just think there are disadvantages no matter how a company conducts business.Saphara wrote...

and it was to generate interest and hype for the game probably. Lots of pre-orders are good for them.
The Signature Edition was supposed to be a perk for longtime, devoted fans who keep track of what Bioware is doing because they love the company. If somebody missed the deadline, well, they'll know next time that there are benefits to keeping tabs. The rest is water under the bridge. But maybe at some point there'll be used SE copies somewhere anyway.
Meh, you can still get some bonus items from certain retailers (Fadeshear Sword/Lion of Orlais Shield from Gamestop) and the Staff of Parthalan/Hindsight belt from signing up for the DA2 newsletters. The latter two are completely free. It's not like you have no bonuses available regardless.

Ah, Microsoft never owned BioWare. Ever.rodgerage wrote...
I think bioware do a amazing job it is EA's fault. Microsoft should never of sold Bioware.
There are false rumors of that going around because EA paid a big lump of money to Microsoft while/after purchasing Bioware. The truth, as I understand it, is that EA was buying Microsofts rights to the IP's of Mass Effect and Jade Empire (or maybe just Mass Effect?) to remove their control over what platforms it could be released on.
Which is why we see ME2 on PS3 now.
Some people may hate on EA, but I kinda love them for that. I don't use my PS3 for gaming much anymore, but I absolutely HATE platform-restricted titles.

i know money for a lot of people is tight atm but i agree with kane, also going to add if you can't put down the 5 bucks for a preorder then maybe you shouldn't buy the game, i don't mean to sound, as kane put, like a ass either but thats the truth.

I was pretty set on getting the signature edition for DA-2. What I want to know is, why bioware decided to stop selling it before pre-orders were even up? Some people don't have money bleeding out their anus and need time to come up with some, so why screw the company out of more money and come up with a stupid idea like ending it? Whoever had that idea should be fired.

*snip* They are punishing loyal customers with that early cutoff date. I hope EVERYTHING in that edition is available as DLC instead of them further punishing loyal customers by making it exclusive. *snip*
Rewarding one group of people for pre-ordering on faith alone =/= punishing another group for waiting.
especially considering there was nothing preventing you (or anyone) from pre-ordering the SE, then later deciding to cancel it if you became unimpressed with what you saw as more information came out.
