When using vsync on you need to also enable triple buffering in your video card settings to on,that way you wont get half the fps this a must.
Bump
The game has an option for Triple Buffering in the ini . I haven't tested to see if it works or not, but you can turn it on by navigating to users/yourname/documents/bioware/dragon age/settings
Open the DragonAge.ini and change UseTripleBuffering=0 to UseTripleBuffering=1
Last time i tried o mess with the ini which I tried to set the aniso to 8 it made the game crawl 1 fps had hard time shutting the game off.
This why I never mention anything about the ini file.
Bump!
Understandable. I tried setting the aniso in the ini and it didn't do anything for me :/ oh well.

I am running on a Asus G2A1-S with Intel®
Core2 Duo CPU T9300 @ 2.50GHz, 4G RAM, Nvidia 8700M. Windows Vista
Ultimate 64bit.
The longest I could play before the game
becomes stuttering is about 10 minutes. I have tried the core affinity
thing, but it did not help by that much.
When I changed setting to
windows mode and used triple buffering, the laptop runs for about 5
minutes before it automatically shutdown. I wonder if the lagginess is
due to overheating?
Yes it is very possible it is overheating. You can check GPU temperatures with this little utility:
