The above is the link to the topic I posted in hopes of finding a solution. I'd prefer being able to play this game to its fullest as soon as possible.
Thanks, GC.

Don't know if anyone said this yet, but your anti-virus might be blocking it. Only way to fix it is to allow it to get through manualy changing the way your firewall deals with this program and them manualy download it through DA:O folder and then it'll automaticly download when you launch DA:O.

i have been having a huge problem which has had me spend hrs trying to solve online with searches on google, bioware.and ive done so much reading but no real solution, and my case is rare as well apparently.plz some1 help me.my game keeps crashing when i save or their is game autosave, whether by me or game.the computer always crashes and goes to blue screen of death all the time when there is a save.and it says mainly "problem caused by igxpdv32.dll page_fault_in_nonpaged_area"plz help fellow gamers and bioware.my christmas happiness lies in all ur handslol
Page fault in nonpaged area is a RAM issue. First thing you should try is vacuuming out your case - I kid you not, I was getting a page fault BSOD every two days for a time, simply because my computer was overheating.
im using a laptop.so i dont think i'll be able to do the vacuum out my case thing.do u or any1 have any other advice, plz and thank you for all ur help.

Not sure what you're getting at with this? The PhysXloader.dll is a file installed as part of the initial installation and doesn't download from the DA server in any way. It's essentially a device driver... has nothing to do with anti-virus or firewalls as it doesn't do anything on the internet or the DA:O server

Many Anti-Virus programs seem to block it from being downloaded. I had to manualy switch PhysX to low restriction for it to download. Without it, the game wouldn't load and just auto-crashed. I noticed quite a few people have the problem I mentioned.JironGhrad wrote...

Do you mean they block the download from NVidia's site? The PhysX software necessary to run the game is included on the disc and even the digital download versions don't download the PhysX software directly from NVidia. Sometimes the installation just gets corrupted during install. It can be fixed by reinstalling PhysX from the disc or from the NVidia site. Whether you have to manually allow the file to download or not obviously depends on how restrictive your personal settings are and falls outside the scope of telling people how to fix the problem.

I hope I can get an answer here. I've been searching but not really finding info on the specific problem I'm having.
Here is the problem:
I'm having a memory leak when attempting to enter Redcliffe town for the first time with Alister in the party. The conversation ends and then it flashes a momentary look at the town (complete with warning about the website not being available), then goes to a black screen with "loading" in the corner. It usually but not always plays the background music. If I call up Task Manager, the CPU is pegged. I was able to enter the town if he was not in the party (found this out by accident after I had picked up Shale and booted Alister out). And I added him back into the party once in town and things are doing fine. So far have tried many fixes, but no dice. Is missing that convo going to cause problems?
Similar thing happened when I attempted to go to Lothering - movie played then black screen with word loading in bottom left corner and I killed the program after waiting 40 mins. This one worked fine when I rebooted game.
Other than that, I'm not having any problems running the game and the memory leaks only seem to happen when loading certain areas.
Here is my info:
Dell Dimension 8400 SMBIOS 2.3
Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.20GHz
Family 15, Model 3, Stepping 4
1G RAM
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (5.1.2600)
DirectX 9.0c (Mar2009) or later
ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series
ati2dvag.dll CATALYST 09.12 [6.14.10.7028]
512M RAM
SoundMAX Digital Audio
smwdm.sys [5.12.1.5243]
Dragon Age Origins: patch 1.02 installed
Stone Prisoner addon installed and working
Warden's keep addon installed and working
Character creator installed not sure which patch, but was installed after problem and did not change problem.
Toolset NOT installed
Thanks in advance, Hilfy1000

Microsoft...
Overview
The .NET Framework is Microsoft's comprehensive and consistent programming model for building applications that have visually stunning user experiences, seamless and secure communication, and the ability to model a range of applications.
The .NET Framework 4 works side by side with older Framework versions. Applications that are based on earlier versions of the Framework will continue to run on the version targeted by default.
If reinstalling the .Net Framework fixed your problem that's great. However, it clearly indicates that it will use the earlier version. Further, recommending a Beta product is risky overall because for every thing it fixes it very well break two others especially if you don't have the actual correct version of the software installed to fall back to.

Any fixes for what it does to your router? There was a thread of 3 pages of people complaining of this problem. Surely there has been some kind of fix by now?
1)Update your Network Card drivers (get them from your computer or motherboard mfg.)
2)You could use a different router.
3)You could use an alternate form of DHCP/DNS.
4)Contact your router mfg for a firmware update, should that fail contact their tech support and see if it's under warranty. Linksys and several others have a 3 year warranty.
I've tried it on several networks with different versions of the Linksys WRT54 series and none have been able to replicate the problem. Also, my primary network runs DHCP/DNS from a rack-mount HP Netserver and it's been unaffected as well. Further, the thread was stickied (not sure why since it was stickied from the initial post) but is now gone and it's apparently not widespread as well (3 pages is pretty much a nothing complaint in terms of post count on these forums.)

Hi. I have been looking on the website for help but either cant find it or overlooked it. After I download DAO and went to play the game, no letters appeared. Therefore I have no idea what im clicking on or anything like that. I uninstalled/reinstalled it and it is still occuring. I updated my video driver and that didnt fix the problem either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings,
I bought a (German) copy of the Dragon Age: Origins Collector's Edition game just today (which I am playing in English). I see the patch is on v1.02 but I can't find anywhere in the actual game telling me what version it's playing right now. If I have the Collector's Ed and have downloaded the Stone Prisoner content, do I still need the patch? If so, is it the same patch for North America and Europe?
thanks in advance

Has anyone encountered a lack of text in the log in screens after install?
I have updated everything (drivers, etc) I could and even talked to Tech support...Dylan...um yeah, I'm sure that was his real name. He suggested a Nvidia driver update...done...no fix. Looks like a return to Best buy in a couple days for a harmless Wii game if I can't get a fix here...Thanks in advance!
