Wow! These environments look amazing. I am diggin' the lighting and the effects to make it look more realistic (fog, water, etc.), too. It all looks GREAT! :D

well... textures are of very low resolution and the npcs look damn low poly - dx11 won't change that :D. except the "hanged man" all the screens lack atmosphere.

btw - there are floating props ;)

Where do you "people" come from?

These screens look amazing and have spectacular atmosphere. Are you from another dimension? Do you have a holodeck or something?

They look great, I like the new style (whatever they call it) that they've gone for with the big open spaces and stuff. -)

Hopefully this one doesn't suffer from the same memory leak DAO does. Having your quality drop after a big battle or too much looting was very very annoying.

Looking forward to seeing the differences between DX11 and DX9 appearances. I know in some games there isn't that much difference between the DX9 and DX10. And even the DX9 looks really good in this game. Thanks for updating us.

Sorry Bioware but I've seen better, a lot better. This would have impressed me in '05 but not in '11. Dragon Age 2 is subpar when it comes to graphics. But hey I don't mind, I'm not a graphics wh*re.

Uh, indeed, just what is this outdated technology behind an upcoming game that already looks... outdated, as if it's this amazing new improvement to warrant such hype?

Not that it's particularly a bad thing and it's not even like they're pouring millions into developing some crazy new tech to push the limits or anything; everybody already knows that all the budget goes to PR, voice acting and other similar stuff to make the game high profile and that graphics simply isn't (supposed to be) setting Dragon Age a market leader any time soon with these barely passable stuff.

The Witcher (the first one) looks better and looking at The Witcher 2 now is like looking at Crysis screenshots before the latter came out, to make a relevant comparison with the state of graphics of DA2. So If I want to hear developers *rightly* brag about their graphics, I'll check CryTek, ID Software or CDProjekt and actually see something that's graphically far ahead. Not this. DA2 only needs a more consistent texture, model and lighting quality than the inconsistent mess that was in DA:O and that should be enough to please everyone, in my book.

Now if they were trying out an original and wild art direction and wanted to talk about that, it would be another story.

(In case that seemed to have come out rather hostile, I wasn't being so)

This is so next-gen it's last-gen! This would fail to impress even 4-5 years ago.

I mean just look at this screen : http://bioware.files...2011/02/077.jpg - this is Morrowind quality stuff.

Well, the screenshots in this blog entry are supposed to be about equal to the console versions, and the next blog entry is supposed to about the DirectX11 stuff and PC-specific improvements. So let us suspend judgment a bit until we see the next entry?

This stuff would have been impressive 5 years ago, but right now these textures range from decent to utterly laughable. There also seems to be barely anyone in the city environments.

I don't see any floating props, though, besides the weapons.

You know, people who are crackin' on the this stuff should realize by now that graphics aren't the most important thing in an RPG. Yes, they contribute to immersion but they do not have to be cutting edge or even close for that matter.
