TIM's look was just inspired by his face.

But he'd make a fine TIM regardless.

Other than just saying that he looks like TIM.

From Mass Effect Wiki, Illusive Man, Trivia.

"Unsurprisingly, the Illusive Man bears a strong physical resemblance to
his voice actor Martin Sheen (as some other characters in the game
resemble their voice actors as well)."

It doesn't say 3D-scan but it totaly says it has strong physical resemblance.
Also how I posted picture above, they look almost the same.

Simular? Anyway, Martin's face shape looks nothing like TIM's.

TIM's appearance may be inspired by Martin Sheen's but it's definitely not a scan of him. I've played this game so many times, and not once did I think his face could be based of Sheen. Besides, Martin Sheen's face may be somewhat similar, but his body shape is completely different.

Michael Douglas would be a great substitute I think.

Why are you guys obsessing about his face? It's the voice that's iconic, not the face really.

Likewise. Regardless of whether Michael Douglas or Martin Sheen looks the part better, Sheen already lends his voice to the roll and is a close enough physical match that it would foolish to go with anyone else...unless he wasn't able to do it.

I would hope they would try and get most of the voice actors as their respective roles, and do their best with make up or CGI to have them look the part.

I'd say Martin Sheen, yes. But as for a movie, I think Bruce Greenwood might do well too. I just think he would fit the role.

Michael Douglas would make a great Martin Sheen, who makes a great IM, who would make a great Michael Douglas. It's so convenient!

WHY would anyone else play him when you already have Martin Sheen as the VA? Besides he's a great actor too.

No two ways about it, I'm afraid.

I thought tim was supposed to be like 40 or 50. So if you pick a geriatric like michael douglas why not just pick the voice actor who happens to be a pretty good movie/tv actor as well

Martin Sheen is too robust and not high enough. Douglas has almost the same body and the face shape is practically identical. Also, Douglas has a very similar voice so the feel of TIM wouldn't be lost.

As good as that idea is (sarcasm)

Martin Sheen has TIM's voice
TIM is the digital 3-D of Martin Sheen
You get the feel of TIM because it is TIM

I hate  Quoting myself it seems pretentious but We have a point also Michael Douglas just battled Throat Cancer and looks like this now

people, people, please. If Jeff Bridges can successfully play his younger self in Tron, what makes you think that it would be impossible for Martin Sheen?

Technology has come a very long way.

Interesting! Maybe Jeff Bridges could play a good Martin Sheen. If necessary we could use CGI to make him look more Martin Sheen-y.

Wait, which one is that?  Is it Martin Sheen, Michael Douglas, or Jeff Bridges?

O_O well that just went somewhere horrible.

I mean they could make a younger digital version of Martin Sheen. As much As I adore Jeff Bridges.. I'm not sure, TIM would be much for Zen.
