Hair glitch

For some reason, when making a custom female Shepard on Mass Effect(360 version), if I select the long hairstyle(one click to the right when the slider is at max left), there's a very weird patch of brown hair near Shepard's ears. It's not so noticeable with darker hair but when it's blonde it looks awful, since it's all blone except for those patches near Shepard's ears. What can I do to fix this? This happens every time I make a new character.
