I've looked in the old forums, but couldn't find a solution to my problem, so here goes. Spoilers ahead.
In Chapter 5, after defeating the 3 aspects of suffering (3 visages of the PC) in the Dirge, the Water Dragon appears, sends PC back to life. Then there is a cutscene w/ all the companions in the forest and Dawnstar gets a message from the Water Dragon to go to the Dirge. Then the screen cuts to black. Here’s my problem. After the scene, the screen cuts to black and there is a very short stuttering sound and then the game freezes w/ the background music going into a loop. I can’t control/alt/delete or anything. The game is just stuck. I’ve tried going back to an earlier save, but the same thing happened.
This is for the Steam SE and I’m on PC w/ Windows XP SP 3.
Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT.
Game freezes/locks between Chapter 5 & 6 - HELP!

Played the game again and it freezes at the same exact place.

Try to skip the cutscene by changing NoMovies=0 to =1 in your JadeEmpire.ini which is located in Jade Empire Installation folder.

Well, I'm on Steam and couldn't find a JadeEmpire.ini for some reason, but disdabled the movies via the config panel and that did it. Thank you very much for the help!
