Will we be aware of the point of no return before each timeskip to finish up sidequests; or will sidequests be able to be completed during any chapter?

This is a good question. I do not know the answer, but would very much like to know.

We've been told that we will be made aware that a timeskip is going to happen.
Not sure if they told us how they do that, though...

Just as in any RPG. Important quest giver specifically states something along the line "make sure you are ready...", "you'll come back a changed man..."

Maybe it's will cut to Varric (without loading) "Anything else Seeker?"
"You know damn well that is NOT enough Dwarf."
"All well, Next year..."

They said some can be carried on throughout time skips, some requirements can change. Not all though.

Devs confirmed both an ingame note.
Such as Varrick saying, " Are you sure you're ready? Once we leave there is no coming back."
And an out of game notice.
Like after Varrick says the above a popup opens saying "Once you start this quest, you will be unable to complete any unfinished quests, do you wish to procede?"
