So when people are happy you feel the need to storm in, make a speech, then berate the people listening to said speech?

You must be a really likable person in RL. <_<

I'm glad there's this video to watch, cause compared to what you've done with DA:O you've given us almost nothing to whet our appetite like you did with the first game, and frankly it's insulting.

You do realize that Mr. Laidlaw has little say in marketing and the awesome publicity you have seen unfold is under the charge of the Bioware Marketing Department?

As the lead designer he should have some say, especially after that terrible "the new ****" marketing campaign from the first game.

No, lead designer means he is responsible for the development of DA2, not the marketing. That's what the marketing department is for. And they have a legal department as well for legal issues.

Mr. Laidlaw has gone on record saying that he really liked that campaign and that it convinced a lot of fans that never might've bought the game otherwise. You're barking up the wrong tree here.

No. you grow up. This is a videogame. I was laughing at the narration, the details, and the fun play that the Developers added into the game. The details, the nuances, the subtleties that make the character and design. I wasn't insulting the characters at all. I knock down on that crap faster than a cat does a mouse.

Maybe you should stop taking this game so seriously, stop insulting the people who made it and the people who are enjoying it in their own way and take a darn chill pill. Because, quite frankly, you are no paragon of morality and perfection. You come across as rude, unthankful, and overall insulting.

If I remember the side quest in DA:O where you rescue the refuguees they are 6 unarmed peasants who fight darkspawn with their fists. Just standing there and not doing anything to help just seems wrong.

Maybe she did try. Maybe her her kids told her to stay the hell back, mom, you'll be in our way.

She would cause a lot more damage then good if she didn't run and hide. They'd have to protect her. She'd get in their way.

Right on you are Saibh.  It is their (her children) duty to protect her.

Not to mention we've seen probably an hour of gameplay footage in all already. Sorry you're slow on the uptake, Gvaz.

Go ahead, be mature and keep demanding demos and say how you've been insulted by the lack of footage. Somewhere, that's probably not even a contradiction.

On a more serious note, why haven't you guys shut this down? Not that I'm complaining or everything, but I am curious.

Well, okay, occassionally. And I have no idea. There are whole groups that handle this sort of thing, and I suspect they're on top of it, if it's an issue, which I imagine it is.

No offense Mr "Lead Designer" but this is what you should have been providing for PC users ****ing MONTHS ago, not 3 weeks before release and shove us off an old press build of a section of the game that isn't even representitive in part or whole of what the game is like.

I'm glad there's this video to watch, cause compared to what you've done with DA:O you've given us almost nothing to whet our appetite like you did with the first game, and frankly it's insulting.

I like how you open with 'no offense' and then go directly into cursing and then telling the Lead Designer what should have been done. The hypocracy and contradiction is absurdedly hilarious, and not to mention the comment 'it's insulting.'

You know, this isn't a right. It's a privelege, and it always has been. Can't deal with it, fine. That's your shtick. But demanding things from the developers, not to mention feeling that it is an insult is not the politely correct way to do so, nor does it mean it should have been provided. If you'd have liked to never gotten a demo at all, that's fine too.

Because guess what? ME2 buyers never got a demo until months after it's release. No one could possibly know the weight of the changes made because no demo was released until after the game was out. Would you prefer it that way?

No? I didn't think so. :?

Some people just age well. Everyone thinks my mom looks like she's in her late 30s or early 40s; however, she's 50 and I'm 23. So, it's not totally impossible.

I am really really liking female Hawkes VA. She pulls off the sarcasm really well. I was planning on playing a dude my first time through, but I might have to rethink that now.

I am also liking Carver a bit more than Bethany now. Not that I dislike it, but from what ive heard so far I am not a huge fan of Bethany's VA. I get a insecure, overshadowed little brother feel from Carver too, which I think could work quite well. I think that dynamic with Hawke sounds a bit more interesting than the responsible sister vibe i get from Bethany (obviously I could be totally wrong). Though I guess I could create an interesting dynamic if I become a ruthless SOB, but I usually dont play that way.

Well, I guess I can figure what I want to do by playing the demo. I thought I was going to play a male warrior, but now I am tempted to play a female mage, or at least a female something

I'm sorry, when are you ever guaranteed a demo? When do you ever deserve it? You don't. Be happy they released it.

Second of all, it makes way more sense to release a demo after the game has gone gold. You know. After it's completed. That way everyone is playing the final model. Three months ago was not the final model. And who says this is an old press build? The press builds didn't let you play as a mage until the demo became the Isabela mission.

Third, why do PC users somehow deserve it before anyone else?

DA:O had a developed of six years. And, you know what? They don't have to tell you jack. I'm quite happy about the amount of information they released. DAO and ME2 were almost completely spoiled. God forbid there's ever any question about what we see. As for gameplay, they have been telling us a lot.

1. The game sold better on PC, but EA likes to dig their little fingers and try to appeal to console kiddies. The game doesn't have to be consolfied, which it has been from the UI to the combat. The combat needed a minor fix related to animations, not a complete overhaul.

2. No demo of any sort = no sale. I'll play the game first, and then decide if I want to buy it. 1-3 gameplay videos before release isn't enough. Try more in the realm of what ME2 did for information before release, and get back to me. You might argue "well it's like the first game! it's DA2!" no, not when so much has been changed.

3. Sure, I don't mind a demo being released after the game has gone gold, though it's cutting it a little close to go gold less than a month before release. Sounds like poor planning to me. This demo is confirmed however, to be an older build that doesn't incorporate things like: character creation (which press had) and higher graphical features. There really isn't much reason for them to not be implemented, unless it's from a version before they finished the DX11 features, which they were crying about how they didn't finish until recently.

By, what? Charging into the middle of battle and getting stabbed because she doesn't know the first thing about battle, and then forcing her kids to drag her sorry wounded hide with them, significantly slowing them down and possibly killing them all?

Dude.. She's an old lady! It was her duty to protect her children when they were like.. 1 years old to -15 or whatever. Her kids are like 20 something years old now. I think its time for her to be protected.

How old are you btw? Would you still have your mom protect you from the dangers of the world or vise-versa?

Not every DAO player plays it on the PC. Why do you think the console players should get the short-end of the stick?

Has everybody said their piece against Gvaz? Yes? No?

Anyway, I couldn't help but watch. I love the intro and Varric's narration. I also melted at Cassandra's "Will you?" XD

I noticed that the transition between cut scenes and gameplay scenes wasn't smooth. Maybe it's the capture software messing up

No, I'm just frustrated with the direction that DA has taken. DA:O wasn't perfect, but it did a lot of things right. A lot of things from ME2 should not have been incorporated into DA (voiced PC, Laidlaw saying they did this "innovative" new thing where you can tell at a glance what type of reply the tone is going to be, except Rise of the Argonauts did this first).

Nothing I've seen so far has left me impressed, and in fact makes me want to replay DA:O instead.
