I love all the attention Lady Hawke's been getting. If EA site and merchandise doesn't want to do anything about exposing lady hawke, then by god, the Fans and Press will.
Pretty much. xD I'm beginning to love her more and more lately.
Oh, definitely--me being a woman and all. ;D Still, I am liking her much more than I thought I would.
Anyway, is it Tuesday yet?

It is probably a whirlwind. It's the exaggerated part though and not like fights really are. Varric just tried to make the scene look more heroic. That's why there are only femHawke and Bethany fighting, and no Carver or mom or Aveline or her husband either.Koffeegirl wrote...
What is that move where Lady Hawke kills ten darkspawn with her sword all at once? It's 3:59 in part 1 of the youtube video?
thanks, I never really played warrior in origins and never even really looked at their abilites other than taunt and shield bash *shamed faced*
Even without the exagerration portion, it looks like a good move to damage several enemies at once. Will have to remember that ability for my warrior playthrough. THANKS:wizard:
Well actually Whirlwind is actually a dual weapon skill in Origins, and Awakening. They just changed it this time around.

Anyone curious as to how these people made it out of here without being tainted by the Darkspawn? Specifically in the case of Aveline who *punched* a hurlock in the face a few times
The same way that Zevran, Oghren, Leliana, Morrigan and Wynne didn't get tainted when they were fighting darkspawn in blighted Deep Roads and such.

Her sarcasm dialogues are fan-TASTIC. I can't wait to get a preview / play her aggressive lines.

Baked a cake and hid it from Sten.
Got her hair and nails done
Flew to Orlais bought some new garments etc...
-- fill in the blank--
Then flew to meet Hawke and crew^_^

How do you know momma Hawke doesn't know how to fight? Hell, even Lily could fight in the Mage origin and she was a nun.
How do you know she does? Consider that she runs off and hides.
Leliana knows how to fight, too.

Well.. You got me there. But I just have a feeling that Mama Hawke can't really fight. She was probably one of those wall flower nobles, who learned stuff like diplomacy, decoration, or whatever. But I haven't played the game yet so I don't really know. If only a dev could come clear this up.

Man, the combat looks so ridiculous. Cutting multiple enemies in half with a single cut is taking things too far imo.
Looks like I'll be playing this game for the story only, because I cannot take the combat seriously at all..
Those parts may be exaggerated, but the combat from other videos still looks more than a bit off. If combat in DAO was too slow, then DA2 is too fast. I'm still getting the game, but I doubt I'll like the combat.

Well the difference is Lily is actually just a chantry gal. Leliana was a murderer before she got religion.

I haven't preordered it, and I don't really think I will.
I'll give it a try with a fine tooth comb when it comes out, but unless what I've seen is dramatically different from the full game, I can just see I'm going to be disappointed.
I never did care about the story at all in DA:O. I thought it was dumb and had too many tropes.
Then there was that god awful character info that Priestly recently released (example about isabella and fenris_ that apparently was officially from the devs...that didn't go over well. I can forgive it if it was just something that was written up quickly, but if not, it would barely pass as bad high school level fanfiction.
However, I will say that generally speaking the character interactions, not so much the story, is what I like about bioware games.
In DA:O you really felt like you were choosing grey areas, rather than just "RIGHT HOOK" and "Okay see ya, not getting involved" as you would from Mass Effect.
Take the succubus demon and the Templar from DA:O. You can't say that that situation wasn't extremely grey.
Anyways, here's to hoping the interpersonal communications with grey choices are in DA2.
That video that was released doesn't really showcase any of that, unfortunately. In fact some of the statements were very awkward and felt more like they were directed outward, instead of at the other NPC.
Or I guess it's just the VA for ladyhawke is so weird and jarring to me.
Just proves that you can't please everyone. I'd like to know why people are wasting their time arguing with this one? It's not going to listen to you. If you stop poking at it, maybe it will go away...

Also about the warrior in the demo, it seemed to me that when Hawke used "Taunt" that she whistled, which I thought was great. I only played warrior once in DA:O but I don't remember anything like that - is it new?
Yes its new. I think warriors just made a threatening gesture when they taunted in Origins.

I realize everyone's entitled to their own (subjectively speaking) opinion but there wasn't anything else in the game that was really outstanding.
edit: I'm asking for your opinion, not for an excuse to say "you're wrong"
In case that's what you're thinking I'm doing.

Well I don't know if Duncan, mom cousland and the young cousland would have died anyway. That's rather speculation to me. And even if, a lot of Howes would have died first.
They would have. All of the Origins exist in the DAO universe no
matter which Origin you played. And the youngest Cousland always dies if
Duncan isn't there. And all Hawkes would have died if not for Flemeth and there was no way of knowing her kids could survive this.
If they really thought that, why didn't they just throw themselves into suicide? They clearly thought there was a chance. Less chance if you had to protect your mother.I am a guy, that's right, but I think even girls/women should at least know how to defend themselves if they get into the situation. Well that's just my opinion so let's not dwell on it, it leads us nowhere.
No. Let's. I mean, you took the time to mention it. So...you think...that "even" women should know how to fight? Like, it's a man's duty and of course they always know, they're men, but women should take the time to learn even though they're not really fighters.
I sort of doubt you know the first thing about using a sword. I really doubt you could hold your own against vicious monsters with swords when attacked. Even if you know how to fight off a mugger. This is not the same thing as being attacked by waves and waves of darkspawn.
Once again. She doesn't know how to fight. Even if she knows basics like breaking noses, she will still get in the way.
Well I am doing martial arts, and that includes some swordtechiques, but I am not really good at that. But even if I didn't know a first thing about how to use a sword I'd still grap it and try my best if I had no other choice. Another thing is that obviously no darkspawn are even interested in her. I mean a darkspawn could jump her while her kids are fighting. So what? They have to keep an eye on her while she is standing far away? Or is she somewhat close and still in the way? I mean I'd understand if they were going adventuring and didn't take her mom because she can't fight. But that's not a choice. She is there in the middle of battle already. And if she has no combat experience how does she know where to stand to not be in the way but at the same time be far enough? The problem that their mom is with them is already there, whether she fights or not.
