Is it an Exaggeration of the Legend, or is Varric repeating it verbatim?

I laughed so hard at the "subtle" alteration in cupsize. Beautiful. Just hilarious.

I'd like to see Varric try to explain the breast reduction part.

The part that makes me lol is when he asks her if it's any different from the version she's heard, she doesn't mention anything about the breasts not being so.

I'm just kinda curious where Hawke is as Varric is talking. He tells Cassandra that he doesn't know where Hawke is at.

I dont understand why you don't try and soak up all the information about a game before release. I want to be as informed as possible as to my possible purchase.

Likely because for most of the forumites here, the decision to purchase was made long ago, and any information at this point is more spoilery than it is helpful.

As for me, I just need to get my hands on this demo to make sure it runs on my laptop and that the controls still feel like DAO. That's really all I need to make a preorder at this point.

Maybe that's something that we'll have to play the game to determine. I'm sure there are many places Hawke can be depending on who Hawke is.

My guess is that Varric's spy network tipped the party off, and Hawke had time to run. If Hawke needed to run... If you have an apostate sister or are an apostate yourself and you hear the Chantry is looking for you, I'd think you might want to get out of town or whatever. Champion or not.

Or, maybe Hawke and Varric had a falling out, and they aren't speaking for the time being.

Yeah, but what if your Hawke didn't want to run?

I think it's for reasons unrelated to Cassandra, personally.

Okay then, that's quite different from me. I'd rather know more first, then purchase. A game should be presented in a way that makes me want to purchase it, rather than buying it on brand name alone.

Did the dialogue seem a bit....boring to anyone else? the whole dialogue section there was extremely monotone.

I love the tapestries. Much better than the DAO one, what with the random Blight peacocks.

I haven't watched the video. My willpower has thus far remained solid. My palms are already sweating about the demo next week. Should I get it or not? I think I'd prefer waiting but I am weak and it calls to me.

That said, I'm glad they're releasing a demo. It should stop this 'Dragon Age II is dumbed down' crap.

WHAT AM I SAYING? If anything, people will just find more stuff to complain about.

Not any spoilers in the video, really. Just watch it.

Yes, this is what I was saying before about them talking sort of indirectly and sort of "making their own statements" rather than acting like they're having a real conversation.

Yeah I also wonder where Hawke is when Varric and Cassandra are talking. I wonder if it would vary from player to player or if it's already predetermined in the story?

I understand that too, but for me, Bioware gets a bit of a pass. They aren't infallible by any means, but they have quite a track record of producing games I love to play. Since the media blitz started going in full force, I feel like I've been informed enough to make a decision, provided the game actually feels the same on a PC and my system can run it.

ME1, ME2 and now (most likely) DA2 all have this problem.. I'm chalking it up to the inclusion of a voiced protag mixed with the fact that the pc is just a glorified questionnaire/survey.. just my opinion, I REALLY don't want to start a flame war..

Bethany and Carver still feel a little flat to me (fifteen minutes into the game without my being enthralled by their winning personalities? Gasp!), but oh, Aveline. Please read me a novel of your choice in your soft, velvety tones.

Nope, I agree- its the blank faces while the dialogue wheel pauses and everyone just freezes that adds to the weirdness.  It all just seemed rather stiff to me. I don't know if it was the writing, voice acting, animations, editing or a bit of everything. Herky jerky is the best I could describe it all.

investigate is what I find the most immersion breaking... lets play 20 questions with every person we meet.. Who what where when and why are the primery spoken words for any RPG pc.. when there's a whole section of the dialogue specifically devoted to it, it just makes me wanna pull my hair out..

I know information is essential for story development, I just wish rpg devs would show us the development rather then just spoon feeding us with endless question/answer sessions.

No thats not what i'm getting at. IMO ME conversations are a lot more cinematic and conversation-like than DAO, but there just wasn't much conversation hapenning in that demo. Like Gvas said, it seems they all made a little statement on the situation, rather than conversing with eachother. Was a bit jarring, but i'm sure the rest of the game isn't like this.

Again, just my opinion, but ME convos boiled down to..

Shepard: "insert question here"
Individual Shepard is speaking to: "Insert answer here"
Shepard: "insert opinion speech here"

All RPGs are like that, voiced protag or not, but the voice just adds that extra push into the realm of unbelievability to me.
