i like how varric was evaluating cassandra's responses to see if she was trustworthy before telling the real story.

Did you notice that the skills for 3 of the 6 trees are all locked?
Is this because its a demo or are those trees locked at this point of the retail version as well? Do we need to unlock those trees or is Bioware just not releasing all the info on the talents yet?
They could be locked just for the demo or a more likely explanation is that they will be unlocked once you reach a certain level and perhaps fulfill a few requirements to unlock those specializations

Probably they have locked for the Lothering escape, and they are free in the second part of the demo.Piecake wrote...

And like many others I'm anxious to see what happens if Hawke is a female mage like her sister. That templar is so pitiful, like a small wet chicken.
And wet chickens are vulnerable to lightning damage.

Those are the three specialization trees. You surely won't get to unlock any of them in the demo. That said, I'm not a fan of the ability symbols being replaced with a lock in this.ghostmessiah202 wrote...

Anyway, haven't read the whole thread yet. Did anyone else notice that the "diplomatic" tone symbol got changed from an olive branch to a blue halo-like thingy. The change in color is fine, but if I didn't already know what it meant, it would now be anything but clear, IMHO.

Those are actually not the specializations. Those skill trees are the defender, vanguard, and battlemaster--or whatever. They're skill trees, but no the specializations like the Templar or Reaver.

Only certain abilities are available in the demo.

Quick question: in DA:O, I always used to hate it that, when I was fighting enemies with NPCs, even if I had done a lot of damage against an enemy, if an NPC got the last kill, I never got the XP from that enemy. Is it the same in DA2?
All XP is player XP. Any place XP is granted, it is granted to the player. If an enemy dying gives XP, that XP goes to the player.

Really? Should have watched it a second time. Well, then, not having access to every ability in a demo wouldn't exactly be new territory, so we'll have to deal with it. *shrugs*Altima Darkspells wrote...

Identical to the rings they had in Origins to denote current target, seperate friendly from party from enemy and so on.
You can toggle them off on the PC, and toggle them on on the consoles, as you prefer. They ship off by default on consoles, since the targeting is fundamentally different, but they can still be turned on if you love em.
Oh heavens, thank you for toggles on the console. I used to use the ring-dimmer mod for PC, but I disliked how bright those rings were on the console.

I liked Lady Hawke and Mother Hawke, but saying that Bethany and Carver sounded like in a B-movie wouldn't be fair to actual B-movies. I wanna like Carver, dammit!KennethAFTopp wrote...

IMO Mumma Hawke was the worst. She was the most monotone out of all of them.

"Okay so where are we supposed to go?"
"Hmm Let's go to Camelot..."
"Naw let's not it's such a silly place."
"Then how about Kirkwall."
It seems to me something they could've planned it earlier... afterall in DA: O people already knew Lothering was lost no?
Secondly, "Apostate!"
"Darling no, we follow you."
"Ok."
Seemed rather meh.

That was a pleasant surprise - very nice to be able to watch it in HD too. Considering that the settings were only on medium, I'd really like to know what high/very high looks like.
EDIT: And yes, Aveline's pretty darned awesome. I'm impressed by her waling away on that darkspawn. She's got guts.
