What is the point of loot in the demo if there is no inventory. Bleeding Nug-Humpers all of them.

Bioware:  Ok, Ok,  you impatient masses.  We'll give you a demo, and you'll be able to loot.  But you won't be able to access this loot

Cue: very evil laughter

Aveline looks awesome! It's too bad my two favorite companions thus far (Aveline and Varric) are the ones who aren't romancable...but then, I think they're probably just too awesome for Hawke.

Aveline just cemented a spot on my regular roster. Varric, Aveline, and Carver. Who needs elves?

PROS:

- voice acting choice
- intent icons
- some good armor design
- Aveline
- Combat animations look like they were ripped off from a JRPG.
- oversized weapons
- the same attribute and item mechanics as in Origins

CONS:

- its not in my Xbox right now.

Here are my pros and cons:

PROS:

- Combat seems mostly the same
- While inventory is locked () Hopefully I'll be able to min max all my stats and characters in the full game
- Facial animations are good

CONS:

- Art style is pretty colorless and bland
- Armor style is too jagged, it looks absurd
- enormous unrealistic weapons
- LadyHawk VA (I think I'll go with MaleHawke)
- Enemies are just exploding, it's absurd
- Graphics are really poor quality, and no it's not from the video, watch it on 1080p
- Conversation is directed outward, rather than directly to each character
- Animations are a bit flat in execution and while they flow okay they could be improved a bit.

Hopefully this is just Varric exaggerating them, but somehow I doubt it.

grrrrrrrrrrr

I'm soooo curious about Bethany's VA now.

Also, I do not mind large weapons and such BUT....if Bioware wants to go the "epic fantasy/ exalted" route they should just do so and stop beating around the bush

The intro of the game really sets a great pace, starts the story telling and gives you some time to get to learn the system.

Watching this has be very exited about this game!

is it so difficult to create an animation of a sword going INTO the body of the enemy. Nowadays this kind of games depict swords as maces. A sword is supposed to cut...

Also, am I the only one who thinks that Bethany's voice acting is just HORRENDOUS?

*shakes fist at timezones*

[*] Aveline is PHENOMENAL. Everything about her is amazing. As for Wesley, he seems like the poster child for Lawful Stupid.

[*] Beth and Carver's voice acting is kind of flat. They don't interact well with each other. Oh well, guess it doesn't matter since one gets whacked immediately.

[*] Seems like there are more than three symbols for the base dialogue choices. Nice, nice.

Does anyone else break into fits of laughter when the trolls get angry that Bioware just finished this game in record time? "Wahhhh, it should have been done sooner." I hate to break this to you but they pulled this entire project off in just over a year's time. ;p

Which was rather too short than not fast enough.

Closer to 2 years. Production on DA2 started 8 months before DA1s release. That time was spent porting to consoles following the EA buyout.

I think the animations overall are cool. In the end its a RPG not FPS(word) game and while I would love to see some more impact of every sword slash it still looks cool and fast and gives you a good feel for what each character is doing at each individual moment. The tempo feel much more fun the DA:O without having become too skill oriented.

Wow, can't get over how hot my sister looks.

I really liked it all but the combat action seemed a little fast for me. I'm more of a pause, give commands, now action, type of player. The mage firebolts were sure firing off quickly.

Also why is Bioware getting credit for the "tone" images which Rise of the Argonauts, a mass effect ripoff, implemented first?

I do hope there is some kind of gore reduction option. The bodies flying apart constantly was a bit over the top.

This , i think the same , looks like some kind of action game like god of war or something .. But hey i see alot of people like the combat that way , so what can we do ? I wish we can slow down a bit ...

How old are Bethany and Carver supposed to be at this point?

Reason I ask is, they sound a bit like teenage siblings to me, at times...

Thinking about the exaggerated section, gotta admit I did find it funny that Varric was exaggerating Bethany's... talents. Wonder whether he wanders off into exaggerated tales at all later in the game, or if he manages to keep it real. He is, after all, a storyteller. In that vein... gotta wonder whether the romance scenes end with a fade to black, then cut to Cassandra demanding to know why Varric's wasting time talking about intimate moments, which he couldn't actually know anything about...

Somehow, femhawke reminds of morrigan with the voice and middle answers combined with the look on her face... which will make it hard for me to roleplay a female mage seriously...

I intended to play a male mage hawke first anyhow (Though considering Merryl and Anders it's gonna be hard to resist being warrior to have those two ingame..., I'm quite surprised at Aveline though, she seems a more likable character then I initially thought she'd be :)

No one complaining about the combat speed has actually played the game. For all you know it'll feel just fine when you actually play it. Not to mention, the setting on this demo was no doubt no higher than Normal. The combat speed will probably be welcomed by most when playing on higher difficulties.

If you look at it from a little farther away I think its mostly the animations that are quicker more intense the actual speed of combat "rounds" are close to the same. I think pause and play will work well. Mage reload of spells seem a little faster but it probably also means that each spell does less damage.

To me, and I do a lot of pausing, it looks promising.
