3rd vid? I only see two in the op

check out his youtube page :) he will upload 5 parts in total.

No, Bioware asked him to stop. He's not going to release more.

He said so himself, in this very thread. I'm not going to go through 20 odd pages to find it. It's there somewhere. He's got the same username here as on youtube.

It hasn't been properly edited yet (will be finished within the next few hours), but they've uploaded a "sneak peek" of raw demo footage (6 minutes) today:

Yes, this is 100% legit. No, I didn't create or upload it.

Wow! That was... pretty boring.

If this isn't the same version we're going to play in 5 days (SO DAMN LONG), I hope the demo comes with better lines for the sibling death scenes. It felt completely off, there was just nothing right about it.

Am I the only one who liked Aveline's eternal stabby move of doom? It makes it look more like she's actually putting the hurt on the ogre, as opposed to DAO where characters would just slash away at some undefined point on the ogre's kneecaps.

So we go from characters swinging two handed swords like 20 pound weights in Origins, to characters swinging swords like they're made of cardboard. Anybody at Bioware ever heard of middle ground. Also there doesn't seem to be any fluidity to the movements just fast swipes. It looks weird to me. Guess I'll see for myself tuesday.

Hmm, I wonder if you can still target an enemy with a spell (let's say, fireball) and it will track that enemy, or is it strictly ground-targeting only? I see bad AI Bethany tossing out fireballs and hitting nothing.

Spinning is fluidity!

How about Aveline's cheesy dialogue. Lol...

I don't know. I was expecting something different.

Did see a targeting icon stick to a moving darkspawn momentarily. Though he didn't cast a spell then. I suspect the functionality is intact. Speaking of bad ai. Bethany did throw fireballs at point blank hitting the entire party. Not acceptable with friendly fire on. I hope I don't have to baby sit her every spell like that.

Obviously your defintion of demo is a bit skewered. This demo is the same that was avaliable to people at the coventions which is exactly the same in it's function, i.e you play it. So yes it is demo footage.

No, I'm perfectly aware that it is demo footage. What you fail to grasp is that I was replying to this post

"Only 5 days till the demo is released. I'm sure we all can wait awhile longer :)"

See I was referring to the playable demo being released in 5 days. This video isn't from that demo. And in the context of this discussion. That isn't demo footage.

You were mistaken, and now your attempt to put the blaim on me has also failed. Try again.

Mistaken? I don't think so, I'm sure content wise the demo will be exactly the same. Chris probably meant it won't be the same technically i.e run smoother or simple fixes. Besides the game went gold and this demo has probably been planned months beforehand. I also wasn't placing the blame on anyone, if you want to be specefic then state so.. even though you're still probably wrong in this case.

Great stuff. Wish I hadn't seen it of course *grumble failing my stupid will save grumble*. Might actually play the default this time, she's lovely. And I'm not usually into the dwarf lovin', and I haven't been on any of the Varric threads, but I found him alarmingly sexy! Can definitely see why some people are disappointed he isn't a LI.

And for the person who asked a few pages back (sorry, can't remember who it was), Vaughan was the leader of the horrid nobles in the City Elf origin, who kidnaps the Elven bride to be - and you may get the chance to free him, kill him or let him rot in prison much later in the game.

That ogre battle was the most boring thing I have ever seen. It looked like her attacks were doing 1 point of damage per attack. If battles are like that in the real game then they really failed.

When I saw that part it looked exactly like DA:O. But I think it had to do more with the player honestly. I think if he paused more, and was a bit more tactical, things would have turned out better...

Action RPG my ass.

I suspect that's more because the attacks are faster so you see the same animation over and over (and over) more often... so you get bored of it faster. That there's no visible reaction from the target to all these supposedly so powerful and over-the-top moves doesn't help, either.

I suppose one cannot truly argue taste. To me, the combat looked fairly terrible, very repetitive, exploding torsos and an absurb amount of enemies (and as much as some may hate it, yes, it did remind me of Diablo-esque combat). I mean, how long was it until our character in DAO, who was a GREY WARDEN, you know, whose sole reason for existence was to fight the blight, ran into that many darkspawn?

But other people apparently saw no difference between this and DAO.

Except I'm pretty sure I recall us being told we'll do a mission for Isabela in the demo.

We are now in "Final Fantasy" territory. Lame...

We'll just have to wait until tuesday to find out then won't we? even though we already know that we'll be meeting isabella, in kirkwall. That was never part of the convention demo. So that already confirms the demo demo will be different.

I'm not going to lie that fight with the huge orc/troll was very very boring. Not going to judge though because the player didn't seem very good.

Agreed on all accounts. If we go by this footage, "Dragon Age II" will be very-very boring.

Talk > Hack > Talk > Hack > Talk > Hack > Talk > Hack in fast pace. How about slowing some stuff down, so the chracter can explore a little.

Lame.

What makes it worse is that the voice over to your new mother is the same one from "Dragon Age: Origins". More of the same. I don't care how much they innovvated this game. If we are stuck in a feedback loop, I would rather jump in front of a train.

Meh, I think the last part looked 'slow/boring' to some people because the player tried to play the mage as a warrior. The first two parts where he played as a warror looked much better. I think everything from the combat to the graphics looked great!

I guess it looks better in DAII to others that enjoy JRPGs...like myself.

I agree with this, Thats what that demo pretty much showed. It seemed very boring, i understand its just the start but when the sister died it just seemed so bad....Hawk didn't show any emotions to his sister dieing at the moment. If i were him i would have charge into the battle not turn my head.

i don't think that fighting hordes of one kind of monsters is fun......

darkspawn>generic loot>darkspawn>generic loot>darkspawn>bethany's death>darkspawn.....

i feel that this game will sell  less than the original....

Yup, that's the feeling I got, that it's gonna be a fight all the way to Kirkwall with irritating cutscene interruptions along the way, don't get me wrong, I like battle and cutscenes, but do them too often at the beginning of a story and it gets tiresome rather fast.

Hopefully, the demo coming out on Tuesday is different.
