There's a lot of people in these forums who need to quit their day-jobs and start a electronic entertainment company if we're ever going to get anything worthy to buy considering Bioware is obviously not up to the job...

It's nice to know that negativism in the forums is alive and well... even after we finally get full footage showing how people's worsts fears were unjustified.

People have different opinion, and since I think that the majority of the complainers aren't trolls, probably they aren't been reassured (at least completely) by what they saw. I like a lot what I saw. Others not. And I fully respect that.

The problem there is that they don't have enough _data_ to make that judgement. We're being shown the game tutorial, where the game elements are being slowly introduced to the player. Complaints about lack of openess and complexity are unwarranted.

And let's face it, some reactions are just plain unreasonable.

Personally, I like waht I'm seeing. Combat is definitely rooted in DAO's style, except "amped up" exactly as the devs claimed. The cutscenes are excellent, as is the voice acting. In short, those game elements which we _can_ judge at this point seem to be on par or better than DAO, and that's a good thing.

But the fact is at this point we only have a glimpse of the game, and almost nothing of the RPG elements themselves as all we're seeing is the tutorial.

Just as you cannot please everyone, not every "part" of a game/story is going to live upto expectation.

That was OK, but I didn´t like the clothing detail. Maybe it was the video, but buttons and so on seem painted over rather than part of a model. I don´t remember it was so bad in Origins.

I totally agree with this. Bethany's laces on her outfit were just flat, and there were other things on the outfits that I noticed that just didn't seem to have any depth.

That said, keep in mind that this, according to Chris Priestly, isn't the demo that we're getting, this is one of the older convention demos. Hopefully they've worked on those things since then.

And hopefully they'ved worked on timing the dialogue a little more correctly, also, since people are complaining about that, too.

Agreed, Eclipse.

People also have to realise that Hawke and co. were only level 1 - 3 (think level 2). That would explain the lack of different animations/skills being used.

Edit: Hope that was sarcasm, Joy.

Hm I learned two things. I don't like Hawke's mom and I will never do a mage playthrough. Sorry Carver.

Also kind of funny that Aveline killed the Ogre almost alone with potions. I know that's not supposed to be a hard setting but the ogre seemed to be weaker than Aveline. Well he didn't have potions though.

Also I didn't see any positioning. So I guess whether you get attacked from front or rear doesn't matter.

Thing is, while I was not around the forums at the time of Origin's release, I imagine they were pretty damn similar to this as well?

Mass Effect 2's at release was a mess of complaints and it's the same for any game's forum. *shrugs*

Well, you have your answer right there. The Ogre _IS_ weaker than Aveline.

Aveline would not have it any other way.

I highly doubt it. I think you can quote me on this that it's going to be essentially the same as what we've seen.

That's the first time I've ever seen Aveline's introduction, she's pretty cool. :)

Yep, exactly my point, TheLastAwakening.

I asked another poster above if they were planning on sticking around at or just after release. ;) I don't think I will be online unless I manage to get stuck, which I very much doubt.

Speaking about mass effect 2, that game has spawned way too many creepy conversations and topics.

The taste of Tali's sweat? Really? That's disgusting and needless to say, unnecessary.

Some Bioware forum goers really need to chill out and stop being so serious about pixellated characters that are not real.

Being on the internet isn't really an excuse to be creepy and gross. However I realize that tends to happen when you can have some sort of anonymity.

She´s lucky party immunity to DS blood seems to have carried over games.
