Being on the internet isn't really an excuse to be creepy and gross. However I realize that tends to happen when you can have some sort of anonymity.

Okay. I agree with this. But why are you telling us? Did you start posting in this forum so you'd have someone to listen to your complaining?

It's nice to know that negativism in the forums is alive and well... even after we finally get full footage showing how people's worsts fears were unjustified.

Just as you cannot please everyone, not every "part" of a game/story is going to live upto expectation.

Tbh DA:O wasn't either and people still liked it. I did anyway. You have to see the whole thing to say if it's good or bad. If you just judge one a small part it might be the part you don't like and miss the big part that you actually like.

One thing I want to commend Bioware on is something very specific-

There is more focus on Hawke's eyes than The Warden's.

That always bugged me. You could hardly tell if my Warden's eyes were brown, yellow, or friggen grey because there were hardly any up close shots of The Warden's face.

Not even that far into the demo and you get a clear shot of Hawke's face, including those striking blue eyes.

THATS what I wanted to see, and I have to commend Bioware for that.

I brought up Mass Effect 2 I guess, Eclipse...

Was saying how the forum was a hive of negativity at the game's release, because I wasn't here for Origin's release to compare.

No, but I hope most of what I'm saying rings some bells of sensibility into people.

And as for Mass Effect, I was bringing it up because that generally seems to be the main topics in all the bioware main forums.

Who are YOU dating? Man Varric and his chest hair are dreamboats! Omg I wish Tali was real :crying:

it's just surreal

It's not an excuse it's a fact. Anonymity makes it possible for every [fill in random insult] to come here and post whatever goes through his or her head. I don't like it anymore than you, but I also can't change it anymore than you. It's your choice though to come here and then you have to deal with it, period.

Sorry to post this here, since it doesn't directly relate to the demo but to DA2 gameplay in general, but has it been confirmed whether locks will be bashable this time around, or do you still have to be a rogue to get into locked chests etc? I'd do a search, but for some reason the search function is appallingly slow for me this evening.

As long as this time I can tell apart all eye colors in the Character Creator I´ll be happy.

Well I guess I can take this as a good sign. The more people b**** and moan the better the game will turn out.
I approve of this.

I'm quite certain we've been told that only rogues can open chests.

Don't think any information has been released on that, All. :( However, I'd assume you have to pick the lock as a rogue and take the relevant talent (if they can't pick locks automatically).

Just saw the third video, and it looks very nice. I think things might have gone slightly better if the player had paused more so he had time to select his targets a bit more carefully. I am impressed that Aveline could finish that fight by herself though.

I also like that the aggressive options are context sensitive. Hawke isn't necessarily saying he didn't love his sister or understand his mother's feelings, but he wants to keep moving and isn't letting the emotions get to him. I know some people will cry out in dismay because that isn't as mean as they envisaged the responses, but I liked it.

Do we know who does Aveline's voice? It sounds like Ellie Chidzey.

I second this. :wizard:

I would bet money on it being Emma Fielding. Here's a good sample of her voice (she was also the Lady of the Forest in DAO).

I'm 50/50 on the eyes. Far away I like them, like in the Sebastian Vael trailer, but in this demo, they make me think of Chucky from Child's Play. It's like the characters have Chucky's eyeballs... In different colors. Kinda freaks me out, sometimes.

Agreed. Her eyes were the first thing I really noticed. They've done a much better job all round with the default Hawkes, I'd say.

If there was any lock bash it should at least destroy some of the items. If lock bash had the same result as lockpicking then the skill would get useless. So even if they put in bash, you'd still get more loot with a rogue.

THIS TOO.

God, I hated that you could barely tell the different eye colors apart.

Aye I agree Hawke's responses were good. Also the mage obviously does have different responses to the templar than the warrior, which is also good.

Okay first. The sensible people don't act like weirdos; and the people who are not, aren't going to listen to you anyway. So don't bother.

Second. Yes I find it disturbing how some people can obsess over fictional characters as well. But I can understand people getting excited for a certain characters. Hell I'm pretty excited about Merrill. But yes some people do take it into the creepy territory. But its not any different from other media. Examples. Harry Potter, Twilight, DC Comics/Marvel Comics, anime in general, and pretty much every soap opera ever made.

Its not a new thing, and its not just on the internet.

True, but since the eyes don't seem animated half as well as, say, Mass Effect eyes, watching character speak becomes considerably jarring. I'm going to spend a lot of time staring at characters' mouths during dialogue. Or maybe I'll get used to it... I really hope so.

I'll get used to it like I got used to DAO. If I could get used to not being able to distinguish eye colors there, I can definitely get used to the eyes in DA2.

Or you could drink a beer or two, then it's not as bad.
