Yes, at least the second the demo showed us was exactly that.

Oh wow, that's... impressively high... :o

Thank you for the screencaps today, Saibh. They're all glorious. :D How did you spot the Carver face anyway? I mean I went back and rewatched to see it myself, and I dunno how anyone could've spotted that unless they were looking for it.

I noticed the, like, seven purple ladies in the Story Dev Diary the first time I watched, too. I couldn't tell you why I pick these things up. I caught it the rigor derpis first time around, and sort of glazed past me, then I thought "Wait, what?" and rewound it and...yeah.

If you look closely, he has blight markings, like Wesley. Possibly that was the original fate of Carver/Bethany, to be infected by the Blight. And they kept it, not really on hawk-eyed (I'm sorry, Hawke-eyed) viewers looking to make avatars.

Shepard has more of a reaction when/if Jack dies than Hawke does if his sibling dies.

Me no like.

Shepard has pretty much no reaction to anything. I'm not sure why you're mentioning Jack specifically, because she can't die at a separate time from the companions.

I didn't like the reaction /facial expressions/dialog options to your sibling's death. In DAO the warden had a better reaction when wynne collapsed when using the fade spirit. I'm not a scriptwriter or anything, just my 2 cents. The human noble had a better facial reaction when duncan was grabbing you to escape the castle and saying farewell to your parents who are about to beg massacred. Also, the reaction when seeing flemeth wasn't good either. it's like hawke wasn't even surprised when seeing a dragon/shapeshifter unless if he saw one before. During the mission in the korcari wilds, the warden's group was more wary of flemeth even if she looked like an old hag.

Yes she can if you don't upgrade the ship armor.

And good god did I hate that part. "Jack!" My Shepard couldn't stand Jack and would've shot her in the face had he not thought she be useful.

Forced emotions = FAIL

I think right now I'm kinda over the "reaction to sibling death" issue after watching it half a dozen times.

It's meh.

This!

I liked what I saw in the demo...the music certainly is better n quite fitting( particularily in part 5 during the Aveline/Wesley scene).

Jack can die aboard the normandy if you dont upgrade ship armor... a shot punches through the ship and kills her. Shep shouts (femshep shouts/screams in an even more convincing way, but male shep's is very good too)... shows real concern / anger / shock over Jack's death. Was very believable.

During the suicide mission stage, if a squad mate dies trying to close the door, Shep drops her / his  head in a convincing manner, places a hand on the body briefly, then gets up to carry the mission onward... was a brief but convincing moment.

Later, if someone dies vs the seeker swarm, she / he screams that person's name, desperately reaches out to try to grab / save them , but then is forced to retreat through the door... was again, a brief but convincing show of controlled grief over the loss of a squad member.

Moments later, another squad mate can die (the leader of team 2)... this is perhaps the weakest one and not very well done since Shep walks off from it a bit too fast... but the look on Shep's face when she places a hand on the dying person's shoulder is a look of genuine sadness (albeit brief, just 3-4 seconds).

So I gotta agree... Shep showed a lot more concern over the loss of her / his squad members than Hawke did over a brother / sister.

My thoughts:

* Flemeth is awesome.
*Her dragon transformation is awesome.
*Her hip sway animation / hot body is 10000X creepy when you hear old Flemeth's voice coming out of that new looking body
*And Flemeth is awesome:wizard:

Indeed she is.

....am I the only one who wants to romance Flemeth now?

No, you aren't  She's amazing. Confirms her as my favourite character in either game so far. One of my favourite characters in any game. :wizard:. I don't think she looks outrageously different to the Flemeth in Origins, either. Just as though she's made a really big effort with her hair, makeup and clothes.

Also, <3 your profile pic, Saibh.

Did anyone else catch Flemeth's first words? "Well, well. What have we here?".. Exact same thing you first hear from Morrigan in Origins.

To be fair, the Mass Effect team has pushed the cinematic sequences farther than what you see in DA.You will choose dialogue lines while Shepard and however he is talking to are moving around doing something, while DA use the typical Bioware convo where everyone is planted like a tree while they talk:?

Yeah, it was quite funny, for real I was waiting for her to say the next line about scavenger or intruder :)) it's nice how Flemeth and Morrigan are similar to each other (the way they speak and the elements of their looks), it's very easy to be convinced that they are mother and daughter.

I've watched all the ones that are up now, and yeah, I'm in the camp that isn't remarkably wow'd by facial expressions. Hawke was kinda 'oh, s/he died'. And Aveline ... I really, really expected more in her face. -_-

That said, I think these vids are great and overall I can't wait to get my grubby paws on the game.

I thought one of the points of VO was having characters showing more emotion. Yet here we see a critical moment for Hawke and s/he is far more wooden than some Origins equivalent. The best emotion I remember from Hawke was when s/he is the one killing the Templar, but making him/her feeling worse at that than a sibling´s death is really bad acting. We know this team could do (has done) better.

And why are enemies as slow as in Origins? Does it depend on difficulty level?

Aside from the fact that even if you do fight her, everyone ever in the game says there's no way she's actually for real dead, let's look at your complaint.

She's now a "weird hair horned creature instead of an old bag lady." Really? Of course she is. Varric is telling the story. Flemeth is the Witch of the Wilds! She's a legend! She's not some disheveled old lady in a dirty, frumpy dress!

Because if every enemy leaped through the air the combat would be a mess; it seems pretty obvious.

If all combat is the video, then we are fragile speedters types. We hit a lot but don´t do as much damage as the slower oponents. Also, battles in the video are slower than the ones from Origins, movements are faster, but fighs last longer. I don´t want to fight an ogre more than 2 minutes.

They dont have to leap through the air but if your making the player character look like he's hopped up on speed then at least speed the enemys up to keep the balance. The two hander boss in the Isabella fight fought like Origins while everyone else looked like ninety nine nights 2. Weird.

I like her new DAII look.I think it makes her look more sinister as a witch rather than just some simple old lady.
