Then why continue? You could just kinda jump back on topic and let the sillines die, instead of re-quoting. Unless you want to get the thread locked, but there are surely more effective ways of doing that.

The topic is Jack, and I've said my piece about her. I have no doubt she'll be back, hopefully without a re-design, and still kicking ass. I don't see why she wouldn't. She's as dead as the rest of the galaxy if Shepard fails, so she has nothing to gain from leaving the party early... But I can totally see that she'd leave once it's all over. She's supposed to become the Pirate Queen, remember? ;]

For the hell of it, cause I'm bored at work or to make a point. Take your pick, cause they're all true to some degree.

You're right about that. If Shep fails everyone is reaperbrunch. But that might be a reason to go, doing missions for Shep to aid the whole effort. ME3 is bigger in scope than ME2 and needs a bigger effort. Spreading the SM Survivors out as Sheps liutenants on special missions might be just that. I wouldn't be surprised to see their role being similar to Liaras in LotSB. If that is the case then Jack's would probably involve Omega or some other part of the Terminus.

Holy hell, I just can't help but steer off-topic. I should go.

Well, even if all the SM-survivors spread out to help Shepard's cause, they reasonably ought to still be in the final battle, no?

Yeah, I sure hope so ^^

Anyway, my predictions are most likely about equal to a madmans ramblings. I just hope to see some more of Jack in ME3 and see her develop in an interesting way.

Squad mates wont have dedicated missions in mass effect 3...think about it....if you could kill off anyof your characters via neglect...then the next game if they planned on a mission for them you would be mission out on a lot of content.....

So whoever survived your mission, will only have dialog options available and minor roles like that and being a squad member thats allready LOYAL, no need for a 2nd loyalty...i mean come on....

I could see potential Cut scenes, dialog dedicated to a surviving members during missions and such...but it would make no sense to design a level baced on them...cuz they could of died

I'm not talking about a dedicated mission, or a LM mk 2. In the scenario I describe it would be a mission Shep would have to do anyway, the difference would be that the survivor would or wouldn't be there to help. This would include some unique dialog depending on your relationship with the Survivor, previous shenanigans with that person and your social "status" i.e Paragon/Renegade.

Most people (and BioWare too I guess) would think of it as more important to implement the LI's rather than the whole crew. This would mean six missions (I'm not counting VS and Liara since I can't even guess what their role in ME3 might be) with some unique dialog and a character who they already have created.
Still think it's impossible? I sure don't.

Besides, what happens to the missing spots on the team for the people who might have died? Having a new character, full dialog and cutscenes for both possible crewmembers seems like more work than possibly having a character in one certain mission and one new on your team.

Excuse me for ranting off topic. This was supposed to be about Jack specifically in ME3.

true enough, but the theorem behind jacks importance is relative....could be the focus on any squad mate and not just jack...what is bioware going to do?  just redue the old 22  squad missions of fighting mircs  as opposed to 4 plot missions again? there really is no balance to that

If everyone in mass effect 2 can die then that means that mass effect 3 will have entirely new squad mates and even a new commander. I think it's reasonable for bioware to do the voice work for both a commander shepard and a new commander in case you have a file where you killed off shepard in me2 but I don't find it reasonable for them to do the voice work, cutscenes etc for squadmates from me2 to apear in me3 and also on top of all that do all the work for new squadmates in case you kill everyone in me2, it's just too much work. As it is all logic points to completely new squadmates in me3.
Unless cerberus revives everyone... lol

As far as I know, you can't import your save to ME3 if Shepard died in ME2.

Bioware put a lot of time and effort into designing the characters and hiring great actors to do their voices.  i have a feeling that they are developing ME3 as if everyone survived.  Most people i know saved everyone...the only person i know a lot of people got rid of was Jacob.  i think the crew may be expendable, but not your squad mates.  You're going to need a lot of help to beat the reapers and i wouldnt be suprised if in the final fight most of your allies have their own ship in the battle.  Ashley/Kaiden flying for the alliance, Liara and her "organization", Wrex/Grunt in a Krogan destoryer...Jack would probably just hijack someone elses ship, go pirate captain Jack...and not the disney version.

Jack is one of my favourite ME characters. I like her with the shaved head, but I'm not apposed to her growing it out a little.
