Seriously though, I've been playing games in English a long time. Espanish VA-ing sucks. Plus, it helps a lot when it comes to develop your English fluidness.
Spanish VA is among the best of all if done properly, like in films but (I guess) expensive. Another thing is talking about the game industry, usually sub-par or poor..., and obviously without including latin-american spanish, really different for us.

Even if there were a Spanish voiced version of ME, I'd still buy the English version. Jennifer Hale is just too good.
Sorry, I do not. Jennifer Hale or whoever can be great but there's nothing like your own language (although it may be good to improve your english, as patocerda pointed out)

Tanto hilo como tema valen aunque hilo se usa más, la verdad es que si lo pienso suena hasta raro, quizás se tradujo literalmente del inglés y se emperzó a decir así no lo sé.

Es porque esta mal traducidos por ejemplo veamos el caso de "blood pack" pusiste q pack es paquete, cuando en este caso significa manada, o sea si lees "a pack of wolves is coming" no creo q lo traduzcas diciendo "un paquete de lobos esta viniendo"Nezzer wrote...

At least they didn´t translate character´s names.
Sadly spanish VO is usually bad in videogames (and the last few years in movies and TV too). Even if the actors do a good job it gets tiring hearing the same voices game after game.

So as long as It has spanish subtitles I prefer the original VA.
Here a funny example of poor spanish voice acting in a video game:
www.youtube.com/watch
This is not common, the usual spanish video game voice acting is a bit better, like this:
Star craft 2's Kerrigan spanish VA vs the awesome VA work from Tricia Helfer

Is that Age of Pirate voice over for real O__o?!
The Starcraft 2 one is not bad, but it's a shame they didn't bother to include the voice effect.
There are some good dubs in spanish as well, the localization of the Assassin's Creed games is one of the best I've seen.

Not that I don't speak english, but my sister was very excited with the game and wanted to play, and she didn't understand 80% of the dialogue.
I believe that games like Mass Effect which are not just like FPSs where you only shoot people, but you actually have to make choices should feature subtitles for more languages.
Because if you don't know exactly what somebody is saying, you can't know what to respond to them!

Please, please, tell me this comes with appropriate voice-acting. It would mean I can play Mass Effect two ways: once properly, and once just laughing at the screen repeatedly.
I sure hope not. Its such a massive waste of money for gaming companies to make german/french etc versions of their games. Considering how expensive VA sessions are I very much doubt the few extra sales makes up for it. Just imagine the extra content/polish on the actual game Bioware could use that money for.
I remember back in the super nintendo days when certain amazing RPGs were never released in europe because it would have been too expensive with all the translations.

The requirement is to understand what's going on,and with subtitles you get that.
I mean adding subtitles is something 1 person can do it alone instead of voice translation which require more persons to be paid.

Well subtitles I don't mind (its not nearly as costly) but I gently weep by myself everytime I see games with non-english voice acting.
People should get with the program and just learn english.

Yeah!! Yo vivo en España también
Translation:
Yeah! I live in Spain too. I agree, the spanish dub for assassin's creed (meaning 1 and 2) is excellent. The truth is Spain has really good people working in dubbing. I am bilingual anyway so I prefer having the audio in English (although i like having Spanish subs so I can see how they've been translated, and I often think of better translations xD)
also, a note:
In Spanish (from Spain) translated games (even if they're not dubbed) they often translate names of places, races, etc litterally. for example the Asari are translated as 'Las Asari' the krogan as 'Los Krogan'
As someone said in an earlier post (sorry don't remember who) the Blood Pack mercs are translated as 'Manada de Sangre' and the Blue Suns as 'Soles Azules'.
in Latin American countries all names are translated and 'adapted', for example, in the Simpsons, Homer is 'Homero'. in Spain however, it's only adapted if it makes sense to; (Spectre= Espectro, C-Sec = Seg-C) Homer is Homer, although it's pronounced /χomeɾ/ (in other words, the name is the same, but pronounced in spanish).
