Hawke barges into the interrogation room, confronts Cassandra, frees Varric, and then the credits start rolling as they exit the room. 

Okay, the last part probably won't happen, but it would really ****** everyone off.

This is from a German review of DA2.

"The adventures of the main character hawke are told by the dwarf
Varric during an interrogation by Cassandra, who introduces herself as a
Seeker of the Chantry. She wants to know everything about the Champion
of Kirkwall. The cutscenes, which combine each of the games chapters,
make it obvious, that this interrogation takes place after the actual
events of the game. With every scene the tension and the curiosity rises
and you feverishly await the games resolution - but nada.

There
is a closing cutscene, which will cause a "look at that" from people who
played Origins, but anything connected to Cassandra remains completely
unanswered. Of course this can be seen with a wink of the eye and a
guaranteed "to be continued ..." , but we weren´t satisfied with this
form of a cliffhanger."

Hm, too simple. There will be more than that I think. Perhaps the end fight will be against giant enemy crab, who has a hard to dodge area attack.

Because it's classy.

I suppose the enemy crab is right behind Varric's throne.

The final boss will be a giant qunari standing on an elevated platform. In phase 1 he throws barrels at you. You must avoid the barrels while climbing a series of ladders to reach the boss. Only when you reach the boss, he transforms into his next shape.

I think Varric's framing story will end shortly before the final part of the game, where everything comes together and the final battle begins.

Indeed. The game is about how he became the champion, maybe we'll see what his daily duties are in an expansion or Maker forbid.. a sequel.

*Hawke shrugs and puts his arms around Isabella and Merril and goes below deck for some hot threesome action*

EDIT: Only for femHawke btw, please replace Isabella and Merril with nugs for male version of the ending.

The last boss is gonna be something stupid, but luckily they release a DLC called "Home of the Emporium Magistrate" where you help Morrigan take down a pretty powerful an guy, and it has not one, but two epic boss battles that make up for the carappy one in the main game.

Hawke barges into a heavily-fortified chantry building rumoured to be used by the seekers, killing everyone whilst looking for Varric until he gets to the head honcho.

Hawke: "Templar...I'm here to rescue Varric. Don't even think about resisting me."

Seeker: "Sorry, Hawke, but your dwarf is in another chapel..."

Coincidentally, that chapel contains a huge darkspawn monster with a massive spiky carapace that breeds fire and sends a ton of its corrupted children against you first. And if you look around the back of the throne room, on a small scrap of paper you'll find a bitter codex entry murmuring about copyright infrigement....
