I think Varric's framing story will end shortly before the final part of the game, where everything comes together and the final battle begins.

That's my thought as well.  Having it end the way the OP said would be pretty crappy.

The final boss will be a giant qunari standing on an elevated platform. In phase 1 he throws barrels at you. You must avoid the barrels while climbing a series of ladders to reach the boss. Only when you reach the boss, he transforms into his next shape.

But since this is Dragon Age there will be baddie Dragon. And depending on your choises you have either lyrium addicts or mages in your army.


Edit: So if you chose templars, then the Dragon will toss mages doing barrel roll at you. And if you chose mages, then the Dragon will toss templars doing barrel roll at you.

pretty sure that at a point in the game hawk play in the present. he will join cassandra in the final quest against chantry enemy and then game ends

No, heres how I picture it. As soon as there done question varric cassandra says "Wait a minute, I got it!" "I know where she is" Hawke will then be hunted down by cassandra, they will fight in a one on one duel. Hawke wins, the chantry fails.

The last boss is gonna be something stupid, but luckily they release a DLC called "Home of the Emporium Magistrate" where you help Morrigan take down a pretty powerful an guy, and it has not one, but two epic boss battles that make up for the carappy one in the main game.

I know this is a different writing team but Mass Effect 2 has severely lowered my expectation of a good ending



If Dragon Age 2 has as bad an ending as ME2 I can't say I'll ever be excited about another Bioware game. I was so disappointed with ME2's ending and overall plot that I don't know if I can be bothered to play the 3rd game. If DA goes in the same direction it will be very upsetting.
