I'm like 90% sure the game will end this way.

You find out that Cassandra is Varric. She's just crazy and has no idea varric is just a hallucination, and much to everyone's amusement is acting like a male dwarf. Last scene shows someone locking the door to her cell in an insane asylum.
hmm.. this remind me of one or few horror movie titles. I can't remember exactly which one. The closest is "The Uninvited" I think.

As the chase ensues it turns into a cinematic where a young battered elf child is asking, "Hawke? Hawke! Why is he running, Dad?"
The dad, "Because we have to chase him."
Elf Child, "He didn't do anything wrong."
The dad, "Because he's the champion Kirkwall deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A true Champion.
The screen then pans back to Hawke and Varric running awkwardly because running always looks funny in cinematics in games, the screen then goes black.

I have always (and still do) wanted to end a game on a powerful emotional cliffhanger... only to cut to the credits with 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' playing.
I suggested this on ME2 and for some reason, no one else agreed.
Someday... someday...
Maybe you could do this for the demo?
The intro video play's and then suddenly static comes on the screen. The demo then abruptly cuts to the end credits with 'Don't worry, be happy' playing.
The tear reserves would burst from the abundant reserves that would come in after such an event. Oh it would be glorious.

I think you made a wrong turn at Nolan St., an easy mistake to make.
+1 internet though.

"Varric never told you what happened to Hawke."
"He told me enough. he told me you killed him/her."
"No...I AM Hawke."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO".
Then in DA3 we will see how the Viscount turns Hawke evil while pretending to be a good guy but actually using the war to grab more power for himself.

Cassandra "throws the heaviest copy of the chant of light to Varric's head"

There is a closing cutscene, which will cause a "look at that" from people who played Origins, but anything connected to Cassandra remains completely unanswered. Of course this can be seen with a wink of the eye and a guaranteed "to be continued ..." , but we weren´t satisfied with this form of a cliffhanger."

Wow, way to put spoiler tags...<_<Vahe wrote...
"The adventures of the main character hawke are told by the dwarf Varric during an interrogation by Cassandra, who introduces herself as a Seeker of the Chantry. She wants to know everything about the Champion of Kirkwall. The cutscenes, which combine each of the games chapters, make it obvious, that this interrogation takes place after the actual events of the game. With every scene the tension and the curiosity rises and you feverishly await the games resolution - but nada.

There's no spoilers there for me to put spoiler tags on them.
It gives some info on the ending, so that would count as a spoiler. It doesn't give specifics, but It tells some things I would have preferred to learn on my own.

Okay, so the fact that there's no ending spoils the ending. I get it.
