DA2 Site - "To get your download counted, you will need to log into your EA account while playing the demo."

That'll encourage all the customers who've sworn off having anything to do with EA to play.

If they won't play because of ea why would they be interested in the game in the first place.

Ya know, that's an excellent question!

Nope.

I will download it for my self. I don't need any More DLC, I have more DLC then what is needed. All I need is the actual game.

Logic dictates that the EA account tie-in is simply to keep track of the numbers easier, as well as to activate the weapon you get for beating the demo.  No need for the angry sarcasm.

What're you talking about? Don't you understand how mother****ing epic these items are? I mean holy ****, it makes throwing the one ring into mount doom look like a walk in the park compared to the epic nature of 2 generic books!

Countdowns are exciting, it's why we have one every eve before New Years. Seeing it hit 1million will feel like we've accomplished something versus hitting 1mil without so much of an acknowledgement from Bioware. It seems people are more upset that there are others who are excited for DA2 than anything else. And it just grates on them.

But excuse me, I was just about to go bleat some more over the phone.

Lol....  You would think the world will set on fire if some small intro is spoiled or because EA is involved or because BioWare should do their own marketing or whatever whiny reason I have seen.

It is a demo people.  BioWare wants people to buy so they are using the best marketing tool out there, word of mouth.  Yet somehow people twist that to bribes or spoilers or even complaining because they won't confirm gay romances.

Especially that last one.  Come on people!!!

You won't confirm that actual party members are same-gender romances, and you expect me to sign on for something?

Dream on.

Tell you what - tell us what you told the straights and I'll consider it.

Let me run this through the "how not to be a jerk" filter.

Step 1) Edit this post to blank, perhaps leave "Edit: Sorry for being a jerk".
Step 2) Go to any of the threads in which S/S romances are the topic, like the M/M, F/F, or announced romances thread
Step 3) Request for information on the S/S romances, or even why they have been left unlabeled in the first place.  Though I wouldn't expect an answer on the latter, it's a valid question.

Also, just as a note, why are you taking anything the Bioware marketing department does personally?  They don't expect you to do anything.  They don't even know you.  This is a thread about how if the demo reaches a certain number of downloads there will be more free content for everyone, and telling your friends could help it reach that number.  It's not a personal demand.

As I said in the thread that got locked, all the shinies are starting to make me wary. We've gotten very little info about the game itself up until the last week or so, with just a few short weeks remaining until release, and now it seems that they are constantly tossing out new shinies to mesmerize the masses. It'll work well enough, to be sure, but it's enough to make me wonder. I'm suspicious by nature though so it may all amount to nothing.

I so knew this wasn't going to be taken lightly.

NO EA, YOU MAY HAVE TAKEN MY SOUL, BUT I WILL NOT GIVE YOU MY FRIENDS! DEATH FIRST!

And of course "Giving out free DLC? Surely this must mean the game will suck!"

When you have faith in a product, I find it's best to just let it quietly slide out into the wilderness. Marketing? Bah! Who needs that. Obviously the innate aura of goodness that your product radiates will draw people into buying it.

Come on, people!  Who needs marketing or new media?  Obviously, if Bioware would just listen to all the unwashed fans living in their parent's basements and subsisting on a steady diet of hot pockets, bitterness, and suspicion the game would magically sell itself!  Geez!

I have to wonder if, when some folks are given birthday gifts, they immediately assume the giver is secretly intending to steal their kidney.
