Makes me wonder how many actual purchasers Bioware is targeting. I feel tempted also to point out that reducing the retail price of the game down to the 50-55 range that PC games occupied last year will do much more to boost sales than offering a few in-game items. Oh, and the DRM thing could also-

I am now satisfied and convinced that the download servers have plenty of capacity to accommodate alot of downloads. Why else announce this one-million download goal?

Oh, you need an EA account for the download to count. Can I persuade my friends to play the demo? Yeah, probably. Register for an EA account though? Not sure... Some people make a big deal out of registering at sites and stuff.

Bait marketing is clever, though I'm sad to see if come to games. I hope the demo includes info for giving feedback so that those who try and decide not to buy can give their reasons.

Were the items available if the million mark is met not utterly worthless and tantamount to an .ini file edit or a console command - this might be worth my time to spread the word.



Furthermore, unless they didn't expect it to reach a million downloads (and subsequent EA account sign ups) - this is classic bait marketing.



I guarantee, had we ignored this challenge and done absolutely nothing to promote the game, the million downloads would be met anyway, as a mere product of the ease and spread of such a demo and the huge base of fans from DA1.
