It is a fairly straight-forward method. I'm sure that the fan-base can get the requisite number of downloads and logins by March 1st. Like Chris said, this is a "Call to Arms" for the fans and to me that means we have to do our part as well by "Rallying the Troops".

Tell you friends about the offer. Some people may not yet know about the offer, God forbid, if they don't check out the forums and DAII website often.

So let's get the word out!

That's what Bioware's marketing department is for.

Not me.

Is that an American million or a British million? The American million has an extra naught and is seven figures instead of six.

If you look at the link in the first post, it's 1,000,000 total downloads

To some of you I agree that BioWare needs to slow down on the DLCs or the extra content. You don't have to use the extras they might be there for those who are playing Dragon Age for the first time. Not everyone has played the first game and it's DLCs.

I have a hard time believing they would need any word of mouth to get a million downloads. A lot of people play video games these days. A million is chump change. Besides, no marketing department is going to do something like this without knowing full well they can reach it easily. How embarrassing would it be otherwise? ;p

So, is this 1 million downloads as in any person at all can download the game or is this 1 million downloads from ea account players? Could be a huge difference.

Also, how much are we talking about per item? a sovereign, ten sovereigns, one hundred sovereigns?

and how much experience boost also? Enough to raise the character a level, half a level, ten percent of a level, etc? More questions then answers were created by the official Dragon Age website information.

Was going to download the demo myself anyway...but these items will be used by me only if the benefits are extremely low. I do not want to be legendary right from the start...I want to earn my champianship. I already have 17 items up at bat throughout the game....I do not necessarily need two more of them.

Could someone explain whether any of the two books will be readable at all with at least one poem or those are just dummy items that increase XP???

At 1 million we get a treat
the books may be neat
some cant wait to crack open their spines
but if we can read one
when all's said and done
your guess is as good as mine

Is it so unfair to answer a simple question by devs whether those will be readable or not???

I mean, for once I was hopping we're getting a codex DLC of some kind (yes with the HP boost), but if it is ONLY a XP/money, why even use "books'? I hope it's not only the illusion of books and we will get something to read and not just this joke...

It would be VERY LAME if they included products marked as books and didn't ask a writer to write at least several poems in those books in addition to XP/cash....I will hope for the best and that BioWare is better than calling us to arms (only) for some extra xp...

meh, I'm anti authority so this type of marketing ploy makes me not want to tell anyone about the demo..

Also, although it most likely isn't the case, tactics like these feel desperate to me.. *shrug*

So.... We get in-game items for pre-ordering early, just pre-ordering, for penny arcade, just cause, for playing the demo, for getting people to play the demo, and for buying Dead Space 2. They are giving out a lot of stuff damn. We should feel grateful and take all the loot we can get!

With the ridiculous amount of pre-release bonus items, I'm beginning to wonder if the vanilla game even has items.

That would be amusing!

I agree they hit the level of 'too much bribery' long ago.

Everything Bioware does justifies my decision to leave off buying the game until it's been out a few weeks.  Something just doesn't feel right.
