I pretty sure it was being spammed because i refreshed the page to see if anyone download it during that time it took to read the page and 48 people did, and i doubt that during a one minute period that 48 people decide to download it

Well that sucks... only halfway there. Guess they're going to need those Xbox silver account downloads after all...

More than likely, I highly doubt they would sift through countless IP addresses for multiples. 300,000 is a really round number for just that.

Like it requires a roomful of people to individually eyeball their assigned portion of the server logs, instead of just grepping them for dupes and piping it to "wc -l" or whatever.

The thing that bothers me is that they set up a counter that had, if you think again of the announcment of the whole thing, no connection to their own rules at all. I mean it stated clearly that it would only be counted if you played the demo while locked into your account. And then they put up a counter that does not count that, but just the times the demo has been downloaded.

If I was inclined to do so, I could call this misleading with malicious intent.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to promote the demo and the game, because I believe that it is a great RPG. And I will do so, as well as I did before posting this. But I wish to be treated fairly, instead of being lied to. Oh, by the way, to anyone official reading this, give the EA Marketing Department a call, tell them to go to http://www.escapistm...to-EA-Marketing . It is crap like this that makes that video important. It's just bad marketing and you kick your supporters in the stomach for trying to help you.

I say it's a conspiracy. They clearly do not want us to have the items...and EA wants them to be DLC you pay for...

5 sovereigns says that the extra pre-order/etc DLC may be Xbox Lived without the requirement of having a code....again.

I was indeed wondering what would happen if they reached their goal too early. (which from the looks of things that's exactly what should have happened). Campaign over?

**food for thought**

For the record all this fuss is about:

2 items which probably give you a negligible amount of money and exp in game. Derp.

And 2 codex entries meaning more Dragon Age lore.

not if your playing it on the 360 or PS3 it isn't.

Since they have altered this game for the XBox360 and PS3, (thus, slapping pc gamers in the face), I do not see how that is my problem.

aren't we a vengeful one?

remember all the bugs they left untouched on the console versions of Origins?

cause i do.

This is the way I see it, for 1,000,000 downloads we get 2 items, so for 500,000 downloads we should get 1 of them!

PLEASE. :crying:

What makes me sad is that not really many people even care for the RPG genre. 1 million downloads should be relatively easy. In the US there is over 300 million people. 1% of the population would be 3 million players. Not to mention that we are also including the populations of Germany and France, if we really cant get 1 mill people to download the game then the RPG is in a serious position.

Well I'm sure they just cut off 300k so they could get more people to promote it. At least that what I would have done.

You'de be surprised at the hoops people will jump through for some gold and XP

FFS it's braindead easy to get a list of IP hits, plop that into Excel and tell it to remove duplicates. It's work of about five minutes if you're SLOW. Stop building conspiracies where there are none.
