Trouble? Probably not. But it's an incentive. It's like saying that including Shale meant they thought they'd have trouble getting people to buy it new.
Throwing incentive after incentive starts to raise a few questions. Next thing you know there's gonna' be a "log in within the first 24 hours on release day and get Queen Anora's corset!"

Oh,so you are penalizing those of us who are trying to keep away from game spoilers by rewarding people for playing the demo and getting spoiled? Yet more BAD marketing schemes.
You realize you could just download it and not actually play it, right?
penalized implies losing something. You dont lose an item for not playing it. You just dont gain anything. You made the decision, but Bioware doesnt need to cater to every decision.
want spoiled by telling us that we can't have an item if we won't be
spoiled.

Yes. You go onto the EA site and link your gammer tag to your ea account.TheLastAwakening wrote...
I know they play games like madden and stuff so i'm guessing they should already have an ea account but I'll let them know just incase XD.

You're not being punished if you don't play the demo, you're just not getting the item from doing so. Don't expect them to give out free stuff for doing nothing.
I don't want to play the demo, so I won't. The tradeoff is that I miss out on a sword but get spoiler-free intro.
After I beat the intro, I can go back and complete the demo because it isn't suddenly gone when you buy the game.

The first level and one later level? Sounds like the ME2 demo to me, and that didn't really spoil much beyond Shepard's err... demise
Once again, it's a single 2H blade. Chances are most of us won't even use it in-game anyway. No need to get all excited...

Why are you even comparing the games?

I would've downloaded but now I'm not sure. I don't want even more free high-end gear cluttering up my inventory from the start of the game! It's redicilous! Put it in some store and make it pricy.
You'll be able to disable the dlc I'm sure.

The incentives have all been for different things, though. Signing up for the newsletter, playing Legends, getting the SE, preordering, buying new, etc.

If I'm correct the promo for the items finishes on March 31, so you could just play the demo after playing the relevant parts in the main game and still get the items. Well, I think it would work.

I love you. Platonically, of course.
Sunnie, just play through the demo after playing through the game. You'll still get your free item, and the demo content is free and bound to be more interesting than say... Darkspawn Chronicles.
