Hm, at this rate...as much as I hate to say it...if the counter continues to go at the current rather slow rate of rising, I've estimated we won't get above 900-950k or so...now if heaps of people begin to get it on the weekend, or our poor XBL Silver members manage to get in their downloads before they stop the counter...then perhaps we'll pull through.

Without those circumstances though, we won't make it at the current rate.

It's on an average of 3-5 downloads every 15 seconds...if you do the math (which I have), even at the rate of 5 every 15 seconds, we will only just scrape in below the 1 million mark over the course of the next remaining days, around 10-20k short, give or take a tad.

So without some sort of miracle mentioned above...we won't get the goal, but here's to hoping...the books are a bonus, it's down to the person to use them or not, so there's no need to "not hope for them"....the mere feat of having 1 million unique accounts downloading/playing the demo without hacking or spamming will be worth seeing and feeling proud of and having been part of.

The books are merely a representation of that feat, and something to hold onto and remember it by..no one is making you use them if they're unlocked on our accounts...it's down to the individual's choice, so there is no change to game balance or whatever some of you elitist players believe, heh.

Just be happy for us and BioWare if the goal is reached legitimately...it's nothing to scoff at if achieved.

Perhaps you are correct that allowing March 1st would help ... particularly with X-Box silver folks finally getting a chance to download ... but how many "silver" folks can be counted on?

My coworker suggested that most people go "gold" because silver does offer on-line play ... or something like that ... 

Of course DA2 is NOT an on-line game, so perhaps the silver folks would be more likely to download the demo.

I have a silver account on XBL just for access to DLC and patches... I have no interest in on-line gaming, though I did have some fun with Halo when I had a free month of gold. Still, I for one would get this demo because I really want to see DA2 in action... I think a lot of silver acc members might have the service for the same reasons I do and a good number of them might also want this demo.

Pretty sure we already hit the 1 million mark and they are deflating the actual total to keep the buzz going. They already stated that they count the amount of unique people login in to their ea account while playing the demo. I really don't see why people would cheat for only 2 worthless trinkets and how they would know you are cheating. It's possible to have multiple EA account on the same console because of family and friends. Moreover this promotion only help Bioware by making more people play the demo. By having the counter underestimated on purpose it force people to use word to mouth to force their friend to play it. It's not like the prize they are giving away is a million dollar... They are giving away two items that are already ready and coded.
