the bottom line is they are making it to difficult for the people that do not know about this call of arms thing to get it counted. i know a bunch of people that downloaded it but they don't have a ea account or know that if they get to a million they get free stuff in game.

We are nearly at the final count down and the best we can do is to be optimistic....I just have a bad feeling about this.

To bad that the people that don't have an EA account but did download( and maybe played) the demo don't get counted. No point in asking my friends and family, seeing they aren't gamers and have no need for an account.

It could possibly be that the 360 and PS3 download numbers are not reflected in the totals we see on the website. That could be PC only. Or it could be that only the first portion of the console downloads were added manually by Bioware, and there are still more to be added. But no, they just maniuplate the numbers and make up what they want, that's what it is..*rolls eyes*

The quoted "rules" on the website (the asterisk) actually says *on* March 1st 2011. It does not stipulate *when* on the 1st. Could be 12:00AM 03-01 (likely Pacific or Mountain, can't remember which Edmonton is in). OR it could be 11:59:59PM 03-01. It could also be any time between those two times, as it wasn't specific.

When they reset the counter, did they simply remove the downloads that were spammed or did they simply reduce it by an arbitrary number? If so, I want those spammers & cheaters skinned alive!

Are people really so desperate for a couple of books that just give gold and xp?, I find myself hoping that this is a fail causing the spammers to lose out.

I've come to the conclusion that this is more a matter of pride, or maybe just the desire to win.  I mean, as cool as it would be to get bonus XP in a game with limited XP, it's not that big of a prize... And I still believe the spammers are just people with too much free time and/or folks who like to screw with other folks.

I downloaded the demo, linked to my account, and added + 1 to the counter. But now, I'm a little tired of promotional stuff like this. Honestly, I'm not that interested in a couple of magical books that spew money at you after staring at them for an instant. Apart from breaking immersion, they seem like they would unbalance the game; especially considering how many dlc items there are already. And before someone says, "Well if you don't want them, then don't use them," the whole reason I am saying this is that I don't want to encourage Bioware to continue this "Call to Arms" trend.

Well, its the end of the weekend and we're at 850 000 something. Numbers are climbing very slow now, so I think we can kiss our DLC goodbye.

It's not so really about the items; they could be totally useless for all I care - like a Mohawk hairstyle or a pink version of the champion outfit. It's about the joy of winning the said free stuff, of completing the issued challenge and wining the little game. I'd still partake even if the prize is was nothing but a silly song.

Yeah, that's the real problem. I don't get why they put the deadline before March 1st, when at March 1st Silver user can download it.

I didn't know it was only until march 1st. Microsoft may have screwed us!?!?
Make sure they don't get the Mass Effect 3 demo for the 360 then.
