Bit a major flaw in BioWare/EA's newest marketing ploy, this will probably keep the numbers down a tad...maybe BioWare/EA can move the demo's release date forward to stop this problemHBC Dresden wrote...
I am connected to the internet and able to download DLC. However, I have no use for online multiplayer and therefore I only have Xbox Live Silver. Which means I cannot acess new demos until a week after Gold members. So the earliest I can download the demo (to help the community get the tomes) and complete the demo (for Hayder's Razor) would be March 1st.
But you state this promotion requires everything done BEFORE March 1st. Not only will I be screwed out of Hayder's Razor and not be able to help the community get to 1,000,000 downloads, many other Xbox Live Silver users will be unable too.

What we really need... is a COUNTDOWN clock. Starts at 1 000 000 and moves down as the demo is logged into... It would be epic to see the marker reach 0.
But could easily be depressing too if it was getting close to 0. and then missing the deadline

Trouble? Probably not. But it's an incentive. It's like saying that including Shale meant they thought they'd have trouble getting people to buy it new.
Throwing incentive after incentive starts to raise a few questions. Next thing you know there's gonna' be a "log in within the first 24 hours on release day and get Queen Anora's corset!"
Or it could just be a fun marketing thing. *rolleyes* Other games haven't tried marketing via social networks at all - nope - it must be a sign of desperation!

Would motivate people to work harder.

Boredom, mostly.
This looks adorable next to your avatar.
And my participation is handicapped by the Xbox Silver dilemma, as well. I wasn't planning on playing the demo, but I would've downloaded it to be a drop in the bucket regardless.

Dragon Age 2, it's everything you love in a game, and your mom's going to hate it!

I wonder if they really need EA accounts though, or if playing without one will be fine. Convincing lots of people to download a free demo? Definitely doable. Convincing them to register? Remarkably more difficult XD
