Hopefully its just downloading the demo that counts, I am sure EA doesnt expect everyone to sign in/ make an EA account for the count.
Was planning to download it, i wanna see what Hawke has the better voice acting :D

You start to get the impression that they will offer everyone a fiver next to buy their game....why so man y damn incentives? Is it actually not all that good after all?

Word of mouth is the best type of advertising.  If they want to give you incentive for telling your friends about a game you like, where's the harm?  The items seem small enough that they won't unbalance anything.

I told some of my friends who don't normally play games like this about it already, and they said they are going to give the demo a shot.  Thanks for the added incentive haha!

I'm pretty sure they expect you to sign in with an account for this to work.

Otherwise you'd have people on PC downloading the game a million times easily.

Most of my friends don't own computers powerful enough to run the game, or either a PS3 or 360. Still I will definitely be downloading the demo myself to help ensure that the goal is reached. *salutes*

Very nice strategy.  Getting 1 million downloads across platforms isn't that difficult. Technically all you need is 330k PC/XBox/PS3 users each.  Once that point is reached, you will most likely see the following messages on all gaming sites/magazines " Dragon Age 2 demo download exceeded 1 million on the first day/week/whichever!". When an average gamer sees that, he/she usually thinks " Wow, over one mil people have tried it. I need to take a look". Which in turn leads to increased sales.

All of that being said - count me in!:innocent:

Do you have to have an EA.com account to play the demo, though? Cause I know a couple people I can convince to download it, but I don't know if they have EA.com accounts, so it might not count.

ETA: whoops, looks like a lot of people already asked, sorry about that

When you have faith in a product, I find it's best to just let it quietly slide out into the wilderness. Marketing? Bah! Who needs that. Obviously the innate aura of goodness that your product radiates will draw people into buying it.

Oops, I may have turned on the snark mode for a moment.

I've an idea: Give us the demo NOW, then we'll have more time to get more people to download it!

They can't because of security reasons etc.

You won't confirm that actual party members are same-gender romances, and you expect me to sign on for something?

Dream on.

Tell you what - tell us what you told the straights and I'll consider it.

That'll encourage all the customers who've sworn off having anything to do with EA to play.

If they won't play because of ea why would they be interested in the game in the first place.

What're you talking about? Don't you understand how mother****ing epic these items are? I mean holy ****, it makes throwing the one ring into mount doom look like a walk in the park compared to the epic nature of 2 generic books!
