As in people spamming the downloads or making new ea accounts and signing in to the demo with them?.

My guess would be that someone made a script to submit false information and inflate the numbers. Earlier in the thread, someone posted the over-night numbers where the new downloads jumped to 500ish per hour which seems more like an automated attack rather than people manually creating new accounts.

That's just a guess of course and either way it doesn't matter because Bioware doesn't want people cheating and complaining about them not tollerating cheating is both rediculous and a waste of time.

The staff, belt and sword are all linked to your EA account so it will be there aslong as you log into that specific account

I don't know about that go to Profile and then to registered game promotions. Next to Haydar's Razor I only see 360 (which is what I used).

No, that sounds like the opposite of PR.  Nobody thinks it is good PR to say "Oh look, people are actually far less interested in our game than we thought."  If they wanted to generate more interest, they would set a new threshold such as 1.5 million and offer new bonuses.  Now, they have significantly increased the likelihood that we won't hit the bar, which will not look good for them.

What do you mean spamming? Are you saying your website is so badly coded that one play through counts as 1 point out of a million? Does this mean my 10 play through counted as 10 poeple downloading the game?
If so I still shocked that I have any repect left for Biowares. Cheap sellouts crap company.

What ARE you talking about? It doesnt go by how many times you play the demo its how many people download it then sign in to link their EA accounts to DA2 but i think what he means is that people are making multiple accounts and signing in linking their accounts but they picked up multiple links from one IP which is the most likely theory in my mind anyway

What ARE you talking about? Some peoples go to sleep and wake up with nice results, dlcount gone from 450000 to 750000... there vas two spikes, one from about 05:30 gmt-1, that went down some few houers later, then again one spike some houers later... dont have the number/time at hand here.
Was both spikes false?
Anyway, what is the psykological result of this.
Wel talking for myself... I also went to sleep, this time with high numbers, rounding 800000, then avoke some houers later with numbers down 300000.
I felt shock, got somewhat lame, then started asking; what happened?
The real question is; will this give the whole "call to arms" a setback.
I think it will, peoples will think, what the heck, if sombody can play false so easy, fake played game, then why schall I really bother, what schall I belive.
The fun has gone, like an air balloone punctured.

Yes this is pretty strange... you can unplay a demo? lol... I hope it's only a mistake from the counter or we won't ever get the marker. Or maybe they removed invalid accounts?, but they're plenty, so I doubt that posibility.

The Demo was released February 22nd.  Today is February 24th.  That is 48 hours, and we are 1/2 of the way towards the goal, even after some illegitamte numbers were removed.

We have until March 1st.We are only at 2/7 the time (48/168).  We are increasing at a rate faster than time, if we keep this rate, and HOLD THE LINE, we'll make it with time to spare.
On top of that, we haven't even had a Weekend yet.  Also, Xbox Silver accounts have not had a chance to add their numbers in.

If, for whatever reason we actually do come under, then I would at least request a day or two for Xbox Silver accounts to add their counts to the total.

you do know that the silver account users download count will be meaningless since the deadline will be over only then  will they have access to the download.
